She takes a deep breath before standing up straight. "It's alright. I swear, I'll be just fine. Just tired."
"You don't look fine, Yunjin. Come on, man. Stop being stubborn." It was Minjeong who was reaching out to take her electric guitar away from her this time. But just like what she did with Ryujin, she avoids Minjeong's hands and even turns away from her to stop her from taking her guitar away.
Minjeong clicked her tongue before turning her head towards Kazuha, looking frustrated. "Zuha, look at her!"
If anyone could reason with Yunjin, it would be Nakamura Kazuha. But it's not like Yunjin would listen to her best friend either.
"Yunjin. Just rest up. You can join us next week." Yujin was the one who spoke, muttering it under her breath.
"I won't be here next week."
Everyone knew she wouldn't be here next week. She has theater rehearsals and after that, they have that celebration for the Football team's win. They wouldn't have time for band practice.
But with Yunjin looking like she'll pass out even with just a gentle slap across the face, they need her to sleep more than anything.
Kazuha scratches her head, she knows she won't be able to stop Yunjin from wanting to practice with them. She's stubborn like that. Always pushing herself as if she's not a human with needs.
"Just let her be. You all know how she is, she's always stubborn like that." Kazuha huffs as she makes eye contact with an obviously sleep-deprived Huh Yunjin.
Ryujin huffs, "Unbelievable." she mumbles as she sits back down. Minji carefully hands the bass guitar over back to her and Minjeong could only sigh before sitting back down as well.
"Just one, I promise." Yunjin tried her best to flash them an apologetic smile but she just looked tired and it was pathetic. Minji stares at her with a frown as Yujin starts talking. She was saying something about playing a certain song, it was easy to perform. She chose it so that Yunjin would be able to play along even in her current state.
But it seemed that none of her words were even passing through Yunjin's ear. At least she knows which song they are going to play as they start performing it.
Minji starts singing the first lines and Yunjin tries to keep up with everyone else. Her ears hurt and everything sounded bass-boosted to her, it was almost deafening to listen to. This isn't how it used to sound.
This isn't how it used to go. Yunjin knew something wasn't right with the instruments or maybe it was her. Something wasn't right with her hearing.
It was probably because she was tired. Her body was doing everything to stop her from moving and that's probably why they sound so unlistenable right now.
Simply, her body and mind are malfunctioning.
But what can she do? This was her choice after all. This was what she decided upon. To take Jaeyun's role, rehearse every day with the theater club, catch up with basketball training, and join their band practice.
Not only that, she just finished her exams earlier this morning and her mind was all over the place.
The topics she studied the night before were now appearing in front of her eyes. Words that only bounced around her head were now appearing on everything. It was as if she was dreaming while still awake.
She was losing her hearing by the second, hearing Minji's voice but then it sounded muffled. She tells herself that it's just one song then she'll sleep right after. She wanted to push through until the end and finish the song as she strummed her electric guitar.
