Script 10: Practice game

If some stupid person came out and assumed that Yunjin and Chaewon used to go out but eventually broke up, Chaewon might just make the whole planet explode.

And it's safe to say that none of them want that.

"I'm actually still out of the loop..." Soobin confesses and Sunghoon laughs.

Sieun snaps her eyes toward Soobin, "You ... don't know what happened with Yunjin and Chaewon?"

The president wasn't aware that Soobin had no idea. All this time she thought that Soobin knew. Guess not.

Sunghoon laughs louder this time, "He didn't even know who Huh Yunjin was the first time we mentioned her in the conversation."

"And I thought we don't like her?? What happened to that? Are we okay with her now?" Soobin's frown deepened as he asked question after question and Sunghoon laughed louder each time.

Sieun is as clueless as Soobin but she's clueless about another reason; why doesn't Soobin know?

The president suddenly goes quiet as she and Sunghoon make eye contact.

"Should we tell him?" He asks and Sieun is quick to shake her head. "You want Chaewon to kill you or something?"

But that was far from their concern. They would tell Soobin everything in a heartbeat, they just both know they shouldn't be talking about it inside the auditorium with Chaewon and Yunjin somewhere backstage.

Besides, telling Soobin wouldn't take long and they would actually be more than happy to tell him.

Everyone in the theater club has been avoiding the topic for so long, minus the newer members of course. But ask any old member, they'd know it like the back of their hands.

They all just chose not to. They respect Chaewon, of course.

"Maybe some other time," Sieun smiles tight-lipped before looking away and staring at the stage.

"You all better tell me one day," Soobin points and Sunghoon holds his hand, smiling at him, "You heard the boss," Sunghoon points at Sieun with his thumb, "Some other time."

He grins widely and Soobin only sighs, he doesn't pry. He knows they'll tell him eventually.

"You know, I was surprised." Sieun suddenly spoke after a few seconds of silence. The two boys turned their heads towards the president as the girl only stared up at the stage. "I prepared myself for the worst when Chaewon arrived for rehearsals and she'd be rehearsing with Yunjin for the first time."

After a while, the two boys do the same. Staring up at the stage, watching the other club members fix the stage, the props in the background, and the wires that aren't supposed to be seen.

The first time Yunjin and Chaewon rehearsed together, they were incomplete. The other members were taking their exams and now that exams are almost over, they're all there, working together to make the stage look more alive.

"I honestly panicked when they wouldn't even interact with each other before the rehearsals started," Sieun chuckles, tracing along the lines of the red curtain with her eyes as the other members pull it back. "I was thinking, 'Will we ever be able to pull this off?' I was so worried because they were both proving to have such prideful personalities. They weren't even looking at each other in the eye."

Sunghoon hummed as he listened. He understood what Sieun was saying. He felt it too when Chaewon finally arrived after her exams. He could even feel Yunjin suddenly become nervous, stuttering when she started talking to him after their first practice without Chaewon.
