You grinned and kissed him passionately. You walked inside, because Darry HAD to get pictures. Johnny put an arm around you and you both went to the kitchen, where Dallas was sitting on the counter, tossing a baseball to Ponyboy.
" Jawnee! You look... normal for once! " He said in his thick accent. Johnny rolled his eyes and snatched the baseball out of the air. " No ball in the house, ape face. " He teased before throwing a fastball at Dallas.
Dallas turned his head towards you. " Beautiful as always, Y/N. " He said. Ponyboy nodded in agreement and took a bite of a Snickers bar. You attempted to walk to Johnny, who was standing at the back door smoking a cigarette. Those heels, man. They were impossible to walk in.

He dipped you down before bringing you back up and kissing your forehead. " You are the prettiest girl here, you know that? " He smiled. You grinned at him and looked over at the food table. " OMG! Johnny, they have those amazing pretzels that I can never find at the store! " You gasped. They were large pretzels covered in chocolate with a vanilla filling and a caramel drizzle.
" Jeez, Y/N, those are like drugs for you! You'll eat like, a thousand of those at a time! " He laughed before walking over there with you. " Yeah, but they are, like, the best food ever! " You giggle before snatching one. They were seriously so good.
" Y/N Matthews? " An adult asked. " Yep. How can I help ya? " You responded. " You brought a date that doesn't attend this school. You both need to leave. " She said. You just smiled, flipped her the bird, and dumped the pretzels in your purse before dashing out of the door.
" So, that was a decent prom? I lasted a while before they realized that I don't go there. " Johnny said on the drive back. " Yeah, well, at least a dozen people had dates that didn't attend our school. I figure we could go back home considering we're both banned from every bar in town besides Bucks, and I don't want to go there 'cause he is always tryin' to bribe me into getting his dog's pups. "
" Why don't we go to the lake? No one will be there, and we can spend some time together. " He suggested. " Sure, why not? " Johnny turned down the dirt road that leads to the lake. The water was beautiful, and the moon shone on it brightly. " Oh, Johnny, it's just beautiful tonight, don't you think? "
He nodded, sitting on the dock next to you. "If this is beautiful, then you must be heavenly... " He whispered, his dark eyes locking with yours. You could feel your face heating up, and he put an arm around your shoulder. " Y/N... " He mumbled. " Hmm? "

" So, you're out of school now, 'cause you're dropping out on Monday, and then I graduated last year... We have a hell of a lot more time to spend together, sugar. " He said. " Yeah, but don't forget about my job at the equine center. I'm only dropping out because it's senior year and my internship is too good to pass up. " You responded.
" But I can come, I want to see the ponies! " He grinned. Johnny LOVED horses. " Well, I don't have a problem with that. Oh, you remember that chestnut mare, Acorn? Well, she had twins. We just thought she was fat and pregnant with one foal. "
" No way, what about the sonograms? Didn't they show the twins? And the foals could suffer complications! Are they okay? " He asked, clearly worried. " Calm down, they both are fine. No health problems at all, which is a miracle. She had a filly and a colt, and they are just the cutest things ever. "
" Oh, how sweet! Can I PLEASE go see them tomorrow? " Johnny begged. " Sure. They are about five months old now, and very energetic. Oh, and do you remember John? That guy with all the cattle? Well, he needs volunteers to drive them half across the damn state! I was thinking about volunteering, but I don't really know, to be honest. " You said.
" I could help. How many people are going? " He asked. " Seven including me. It's a heard of 250 cattle, so any help is appreciated. " You explained. " You tell John that I'll go, alright? "
" Okay, Johnny. " The clouds soon hovered over the moon, the only light source we had now gone. " We should head back, huh? " You said, standing up. " Yeah, I guess so. " He said.
