side chapter: the advice and kindness bestowed by the mana less master

Author Kun: I feel a bit better...now that I think about it...yeah let's just get right into it

Artoria Lily Pov

I remembered it like it was yesterday I was summoned by master I was the novice when it comes to my variants

"Saber Lily Has answered your call I'm still a squire but I promise to live up to your expectations master!" I nervously proclaimed upon my summoning

I expected for my master to be dissapointed but... He grabbed my hand with a gentle hand shake he welcomed in with a warm smile

"Nice to meet you Lily! And as your master I'll also live up to your expectations hope we get along with each other!" He said with Excitement
Perhaps he was not a worst master that I have contracted

And unfortunately or fortunately...he didn't use me when Singularity was spotted but when he did it's for farming bones and proof of hero

Those two items are annoying to get
I was captivated by his friendliness we talk, bond together he tells stories to other servants and in return they like him for his kindness

And sometimes he had some advices that I could use

"A king must not easily trust the words of others you need to read between the lines to avoid being deceived" that's was one of his advice to me now that I think of it Merlin keeps telling me some informations that I couldn't help but feel untrustworthy

"A king must also stand proud wether your weak or small Kings must stand proud but Kings must also be cunning to outsmart opponents" I listened to his advice more than Merlin had given to me

"Sometimes that dick wizard had some pretty bad advice you know"

Despite all of his advice all of his efforts they all go in vain when it comes to my older self and his other contracted servants he has contracts to over 100 of them mostly females but there's some males they told him how weak he is how he was insufficient when it comes to giving them Mana one day I just found him lying on the floor

"Master!" I hurriedly rushed to his side leaning him in the wall

"Who did this to you..." I asked him in a voice I rarely would have used...anger

"This...this is nothing I just tripped hahaha...." He laughed painfully while his mouth had some blood leaking out

"Stop bull shitting me who did this to you" I have no more patience for this kinds of random bruises in his body I'm aware he has been harmed by one of his other servants

"It's... Scathach don't worry about it she was just brutal when it comes to training it would be unfair if I'm not grateful for her trying to give her effort on training me perhaps I could contend against other servants in the future ahahaha!" He laughed it off with a pained smiled while his hands was shaking from pain

I didn't care about his reason coupled along with his bull shitness I grabbed his collar and dragged him to Asclepius and Nightingale in the clinic

How could I be this stupid to let my master be harmed by my shortsightedness

There were times I hear him cry along with fear every time they finished a Singularity constantly rebuilding himself by promising himself to be better next time

But it was still not enough, when I was eating at the cafeteria I saw Master running from the servants due to how wet his unfamiliar clothes some servants went sliding across the hall

I was concerned for him but due to servants flocking outside my masters bedroom I ended up intimidated

Hours later I feel the connection between me and master dissapear I frantically tried to locate him just in time to see him with a duffle bag and tired face walking  in exhaustion

"Master...why can't I feel my connection with you?" I shakily asked this is not what I think it is right?....Right....!

"It's none of your business servant"

I was taken aback master never addressed me by my class

"What have they done to you this time..."

He didn't respond but only walks away

"Come back master!" I hugged his waist trying to prevent him from going somewhere

"Kings must not show weakness or else it will be they're doom"

I then knocked out cold and before I know it...master was gone

I then later learned what had happened they ridiculed him,they loath him, they mock him, they were ungrateful....but most of all...my older selves shunned him ignoring his other qualities as a master

I looked at glass window from the halls of Chaldea... somehow it got more colder than before... I then Jalter trying to approach me seeing her face made me angry...the nerve to be caring towards me and the others only to neglect master infuriates me to no end that I unsheathed Caliburn from my sheath and frantically tried to harm her

"ITS BECAUSE OF YOU SERVANTS AND MY OTHER VARIANTS THAT HE LEFT US DO YOU HEAR ME HE LEFT US BECAUSE OF YOUR UNGRATEFULNESS!" Then Merlin came and swiftly holds me in place

"Let go of me you Damn wizard!" I struggled it's not supposed to be this way I'm supposed to support master till the end but it all vanished because of them!

Merlin was forced to knock me out cold once again....

Even my fellow kid servants expressed their sadness and defiance on becoming Ritsuka's new servants

To us kids...he was the older brother of ours we grew to welcome him as our precious family...but now it won't happen again....
