"Why is Sato... So interested in getting Mattie..." Maki asks herself, looking at the plan sheet of luring Sato into a trap using his next target.
But that was one thing that Maki could not take off her mind.
"Hey..." She turns to see Nakano.
"Aren't you scared?" Nakano sits beside her after being told off to leave Kei alone, who had been moping ever since we got here.
We're currently inside the building of the Forge Safety, where the President is the next target.
"About what? Dying?" Maki asks him, and she sits up, looking out at the sky from the window where they are at the 15th floor building.
"Nagai earlier...he said something about what if your friend Mattie gets on with them and stuff." Nakano says, and Maki sighs
"Nagai doesn't know her one bit then... Mattie would protect us no matter what...I'm sure of it..." Maki says and turns to Kei, walking up to them
"What? Not moping anymore?" Maki looks at him
"Watanabe was a jerk to the both of you...Hyujosho too...and some other punks." Nagai says with his hands on his pockets
"Yeah, and? What did you have a grudge or something?" Maki asks
"Don't you think it's weird how she would easily forgive people? I always thought how weird she was, "She gives chances to those undeserving." Nagai says.
"She sounds nice." Nakano points out
"If what you said about Sato is true. I'd bet she'd listen to him like what Tanaka is doing now." Nagai says, and Maki sweats hearing this
"Just a bet... if she is going to be here with Sato, then your best action is talking some sense to her. Remember, we can't get a chance like this -" Kei then stopped and looked out.
"What is it?" Nakano asked, but Maki is still left with her thoughts
What if Kei is right?
What if her thought of Mattie is different from Ajin Mattie?
"Hey!" Nakano says, and she sees Kei walking away, causing both of them to follow him back to the meeting room with everyone
"Everyone. Get to your posts. They're here." Kei says
"Maki." Mister Hirasawa called me, and she walked over to where the laptop was and took a look at it,
"A fire?" Maki looks into it
"Nakano, you dress up outside. Nagai takes a shit long dressing up." Maki throws Nakano his uniform where both of them will head down in disguise
"Now. Everyone be quiet, please." Maki closes her eyes and uses her power to increase her hearing
A normal person can not be heard through a soundproof room.
But Maki's powers are beyond human comprehension.
"Gunshots. Screaming, I can only confirm that we are now being attacked by a group of 3 or more Demi-Humans." Maki tells everyone
"What about Sato?" Nakano asks while changing
"Can't be sure, but still use caution." Maki tells the both of them, and Nagai and Nakano walk out.
