- Friday -

Scheduled to be at the office by 17:00, straight after her theatre rehearsal Y/n headed to the Pledis office wearing leggings and a grey zip hoodie. There she was greeted by a nice lady who led her towards what seemed to be a rehearsal studio after giving her a brief introduction to some key members of the company and a tour of the building.

Hearing laughter coming from inside the room, Y/n said goodbye to the lady and took a deep breath before quietly pushing open the door to the training room. 안녕하세요 Y/n said quickly before bowing. She did not notice the 13 boys that looked back at her.

"Y/n!" Joshua yelled, surprised to hear a boy's voice when she expected to be training with other girls. Y/n looked up to see 3 familiar faces along with the 10 other boys all spread out around the room and on the floor. "Oh... Hello, sorry I seem to be at the wrong place...."

Laughter came from a second voice, and Y/n looked over to see Seungcheol standing up to greet her. "Hi Y/n, how have you been? Congratulations on making the auditions and no you are not in the wrong room." Y/n only continued to look at him with confusion. Seungcheol continued "As I'm sure you've already been made aware, there was meant to be a surprise waiting for you when you arrived. Well, here it is! Y/n how would you like to join our group?"

Y/n's eyes widened in surprise, a mixture of disbelief and gratitude written on her face. She stammered, "Join your group? I...I can't believe you're asking me."

Mingyu, always the playful one, flashed a charming smile. "Believe it! We've been searching for someone with your talent. And we believe that you'd be the perfect addition to 'Seventeen.'"

The remaining members, their enthusiasm infectious, introduced themselves one by one. Wonwoo, with his quiet demeanour, nodded in approval. Hoshi, the group's energetic performer, added, "You're like a hidden gem! We need someone like you to shine even brighter."

Joshua, the English speaker of the group, extended a friendly hand. "Hi, again! We're so excited about the prospect of working with you. What do you say?"

Y/n, still processing the whirlwind of events, managed a sincere smile. "I...I'd be honoured. Thank you so much for this incredible opportunity."

Seungcheol, always the charismatic leader, grinned. "Great! Then that's settled, let's make magic together. Welcome to 'Seventeen.'"

As the initial shock wore off, Y/n found herself surrounded by the warmth of her new team. DK, unable to contain his excitement, teased, "Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!"

The group quickly immersed Y/n into their world, sharing anecdotes, laughter, and dreams. Seungcheol, eager to make her feel at home, asked about her musical influences. Y/n, now more at ease, opened up about her love for traditional Korean and Chinese music, a unique blend that had always set her apart, and shared her interest in Volleyball, race cars, and much more.

Seungcheol's eyes sparkled with interest. "That's fantastic! We're all about blending different influences. It's what makes 'Seventeen' so special. We should definitely incorporate that into our music."

Y/n, warmed by their genuine enthusiasm, nodded in agreement. "I'd love that. Let's create something truly unique."

As the conversation flowed, the members of " Seventeen" realised that Y/n wasn't just a talented singer – she was a kindred spirit, ready to embark on this musical journey with them. The camaraderie between them grew effortlessly as if fate had orchestrated their paths to intertwine.

The afternoon soon turned into an evening that continued with laughter, shared stories, and the promise of a brilliant future for "Seventeen." As the members showed off their talents and hobbies. Y/n, now a part of this close-knit family, couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging that surpassed her wildest dreams.

She bonded with MingHao, the new Chinese trainee in the group who also only started earlier this week and they all laughed together with Y/n acting as a translator sometimes for the Chinese trainees. Despite being the only girl in the room, she did not feel uncomfortable and felt oddly at ease thanks to the group's optimistic moods, and her open personality.

Little did she know that this fateful encounter was just the beginning of a journey that would not only redefine her life but also shape the destiny of 'Seventeen'.
