Script 7: Take the spot

Start from the beginning

A few minutes later, the academy's dean comes up on stage in front of them with a mic and a huge smile on his lips.

Well, at least someone looks excited.

While Chaewon already has a deepening frown on her face, relief can be seen in everyone else's. They were happy that whatever this was was beginning to start.

The sooner it starts, the faster it ends, or whatever they say.

Soobin's presence was not missed as they knew he'd be beside the council when they arrived and that's exactly where he is.

Beside the council up onstage with the happy-looking dean. He looked very excited, even.

The moment he started speaking into the mic, the students went wild. Screaming and clapping. Some are just shouting nonsense to get a laugh out of it.

"I am very much pleased to announce that the football team has won the championship!" Another set of screams was heard but this time it was louder, more genuine, and more enthusiastic.

It took Chaewon a moment to let the dean's words sink into her slowly melting brain.

"Despite the challenge and the hardships that we faced throughout this championship, our stars were able to push through and take home the golden trophy."

He turned towards the other side of the field where everyone made space for the football players.

The theater club members were the first ones to scream their lungs out when everyone's gaze fell on Sim Jaeyun who was currently in a wheelchair being pushed by Nishimura Riki, Jaeyun's teammate.

The four of them made eye contact with wide surprised eyes before practically pushing everyone aside to run towards Jaeyun and stand closer to him.

When they were closer, they saw Sieun already there, smiling at Jaeyun like a proud mother as he smiled at everyone else.

"Sim Jaeyun, our strong player and the football team's captain, was able to play all games except for the very last one. You did an amazing job leading them." The dean started clapping and everyone else followed suit.

"You did amazing, Jaeyun-ah!" Sunghoon calls out and starts clapping even louder.

Suddenly, the sun no longer burned and it was no longer hot. Everyone forgot about the annoying, hot weather and focused on the football team's win.

"As a celebration, we have decided that we would be holding the yearly sports festival in a resort." While the students cheered for that alone, the theater club was just happy to know that Jaeyun was alright and well.

This moment truly helped Chaewon momentarily forget about her worries about the club. About the three boys and about the egg baby project that she's been avoiding ever since her and Yunjin's argument in the library.

"Hey, how are you?" Chaewon greets Jaeyun after the gathering. Soobin quickly got off stage the moment it ended and insisted that he be the one to push Jaeyun's wheelchair to the auditorium.

Riki did accept but he knew he had to be the one to bring him back so he settled with telling Soobin to call him when Jaeyun's about to go back to the football team.

Soobin immediately agreed and now he was with them at the auditorium.

Jaeyun smiles up at her and slightly moves his leg that was in a cast. "I've seen better days." He jokes and Chaewon laughs.

"Congratulations on the win, captain." She salutes and Jaeyun chuckles, scratching the side of his right eyebrow. He didn't know what to say, really.

He's been on that damn chair when the last match started, he could say he didn't contribute to the win at all. "Thank you." He says a little while after.
