Especially Lee Heeseung if he was so desperate about the role and his chemistry with the girl. Asking her out on a date as if it would work. What a loser.
She just kept listening to what Chaewon's friends felt about the three boys and what their opinions were. They all kept saying that they were very good in specific categories but something would be off.
And that "something" would always be the cause of why they can't be the perfect fit for the role. But none of them seem to be talking about Jongseong much.
Yunjin was afraid that maybe Sieun might look at him, re-evaluate, and choose him as Chaewon's partner.
"What about Jongseong?" She could no longer contain herself and finally asked.
They all turned their gaze towards her, even Minjeong stopped drinking her frappe momentarily to give her a look.
"Is he any good?" She asks, trying to shrug off the weight of everyone's eyes on her. Their eyes were curious, prying, and kind of scary. The redhead felt as if, if she ever made eye contact with any of them, they'd be able to see through her.
And Yunjin is very frightened to be exposed.
"He is," Sunghoon quickly says, "I guess?"
"You guess??" Wonyoung laughed, "You are so mean. He's alright to me.. just slightly."
"He's just too cool for the role, you know? Jaeyun's role in that play was specifically written for him so.. it is hard to make them embody that." Soobin says, playing with the fork on the table.
"But they should embody the role, they're theater club members. Come on." Yunjin commented, avoiding everyone's gaze as she looked down at the table.
"Right, see?? That's what I've been saying! And what Sieun has been saying all this time!" Sakura says, almost flailing her arms around to prove her point.
"Why don't you get another person for it, then?" Aeri asks them this time, looking at everyone with a curious look.
"HA! As if there would be anyone better... is there?" Soobin starts his statement with so much confidence until he realizes that Huh Yunjin is just in front of them and there is, indeed, someone better.
She just needed to step up and take the spot, willingly. But everyone at that table doubts Yunjin would.
He may not know much about Yunjin since the girl has been gone for a year, the same year Soobin joined, but based on what the other club members were saying, she was just that good.
She would be the perfect fit for Chaewon. Soobin even sometimes wondered how they acted together onstage before. He was just too scared to bring it up.
"There is!" Minjeong suddenly speaks, patting Yunjin on the shoulder and Wonyoung covers her mouth to stop herself from laughing at Yunjin's expression.
"What? I just held onto your arm?" Yunjin glares at Minjeong's innocent look, acting as if she wasn't just obviously talking about Yunjin.
The two redheads stare at one another before Yunjin rolls her eyes and Minjeong chuckles.
"You all aren't a fan of Heeseung, then?" Aeri leans forward and they all turn to her.
"Well, not really. He's just been very difficult lately, he's more focused on the basketball club and he spends less time on the theater activities." Sunghoon answers, twirling his whole hand around to emphasize his words.
"And then one time he complained to Sieun why Jaeyun was being treated like he was an exception," Sakura suddenly spoke and both Wonyoung and Aeri's eyes widened.
