his forever love
chapter sixteen
third person

THE TWO WERE ABOUT to spend the whole day together. Rafe knew about the others but he couldn't care. His eyes were on the blonde in front of him who had a bright smile on her face. she loved the outer banks so much, being back in the comfort of her town felt so good.

Rafe had forced her into the bathroom so she could shower, even though she knew while swimming later it was going to get ruined.

Rafe waited for her in her room, going through her photo albums again like he had a 100 times before just so he could see her face.

"you look beautiful here" he spoke, seeing her enter form the corner of his eye. "i mean you look beautiful all the time but this day, i don't know what it is about it" he looked up at the girl as she leaned over, trying to put her necklace on and looking at the photo.

"that was taken the day of our first kiss" she smiled a bit as she blushed. he wasn't looking at the photo, his gaze was stuck on her. she struggled getting the necklace on. when the blonde boy noticed her frustration, he moved the album and patted in front of him.

"let me help you princess" he took the necklace out of her hand, she sat in front of him on the bed, criss crossed as he placed it around her neck.

the two sat in silence as he put the necklace on her. he pulled her hair back behind her, pushing it slightly aside though so he could place a kiss on her neck.

Elliott shivered at the feather light kiss, his touch gone as she stood up. he looked up at her with innocent eyes, just wanting to hold her. kiss her until she felt at peace with the world. she was his world and he wasn't willing to give it up again.

"rafe" she whispered as he grabbed her hand, dragging her to stand between his legs.

"princess, are we going to be okay?" he asked, staring into her eyes as her face slightly relaxed. "i hope" she sighed.

"are we okay right now?" the blonde boy asked, pieces of hair falling into his forehead, she brushed them away, answering his question, "we will, if you stop with the drugs and alcohol, it's not healthy" she told the boy

"it's what i used to drown out the voices, to tell myself ill be okay" he rested his head on her stomach as she ran a hand through his hair. his arms around her waist.

"i told myself, the more i take and the more i drink, maybe it will silence my mind and i can focus on trying to be okay, for you. i wanted to be okay for you" he whispered the last line.

this boy, who rarely showed emotions ever, the rich, daddy's boy who got everything he wanted was poring his heart out. but he was doing it to the girl he loved, the one his heart was always beating for.

"it makes you this person i don't feel safe around. you had a gun yesterday rafe, it makes you do things that scare me, if we are going to work, i want to feel safe." he nodded against her at his words, his heart breaking when she said she felt unsafe around him, that was the last thing he wanted

"and i will make you feel safe, i want you safe, i can't stand you leaving again, i need you" his voice broke as he stared up again at her. her heart melted at the sight

"and im here, if you can stay sober, ill be here through your whole journey" she slightly smiled, giving him a sense of comfort
