My body is so sore from curling up under the blanket. I got up and stretched, trying to loosen up my stiff muscles. It's already 7:32 am, I might make it, but I'll probably be late for first class, I thought.

I took a quick shower and put on my clothes from yesterday. I have to swing by home to grab my school stuff anyway, I told myself. When I stepped out of the room, I was surprised to see Stacy awake. "Wait, you're up at this time?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. She chuckled and said, "Oh, I just woke up to check on you before you leave. We didn't get to hang out yesterday, and you were already asleep when I got home." She added, laughing at the awkwardness. I gave a nervous laugh and quickly changed the subject. "Wow, you made breakfast!" I exclaimed, eyeing the bacon and pancakes with syrup. "Go ahead, I know you won't have time for breakfast when you get home," she said.

I didn't have much of a choice, so I sat down to eat. I'll probably be late for my first class anyway, I thought. She kept staring at me while I ate, but I ignored it and kept on eating. After I finished, I cleaned up, gave her a peck on the cheek, and headed out. I was about to leave when she suddenly spoke up. "Someone at the VIP lounge asked about you," she said. I froze in place, knowing exactly who she was talking about. Thank goodness she couldn't see my face because I was in complete shock. I needed to distance myself from her or else I might end up spilling everything, including what happened the other night, and I didn't want her to know. I gave a nervous laugh and replied, "Oh, so I was noticed for not being at work."

"He asked a lot of questions when I told him you were sick, like he's worried or something," she continued. I swallowed hard and stammered, "Well, I-I don't know." My hands were already sweaty. "Are you hiding something from me, Cass?" she asked. I laughed again, trying to brush it off. "There's nothing to hide," I said, my voice trembling. "I'm sure Tyler was worried too," I added quickly. Before Stacy could say another word, I rushed out the door, shouting, "I'm gonna be late for class!"

"Now she's acting weird," Stacy said.

Whew!, that was a close one, I thought to myself. I managed to slip away, muttering to myself. I can't worry her even more, but I know she'll definitely ask again. I need to come up with a better lie, and fast. I hopped into a taxi to head home, but then I couldn't stop thinking about what she said. He asked about me? "Why?" I don't even know him. We've never spoken to each other. "I'm sure we've never met." He looks rich, and there's this intense and powerful aura around him that I could feel. "What does he want with me?"

I finally arrived home, changed my clothes, grabbed my school stuff, and headed out for school. But my mind was still spinning with questions. "Does he know something about me?" I'm certain my parents don't know him. I couldn't help but recall the creepy event from the previous night. "Was he the one on my street, trying to get into my house?" I instantly shook my head, saying to myself, "No, the stares were different, I'm sure of it." "Was he the same guy in the car the other night?" I wasn't so sure. But one thing's for certain, his stares are different. They make me shiver and feel weak in the knees, as if his eyes have some sort of control over me. It's like they're doing something to my body. Hold on, what the fuck am I saying? Am I going insane or what. I shook my head, got off the bus, and hurried into the school just a few minutes before second class.

I flicked my lighter, and a flame sparked to life. "Hmm, she's back home," I mumbled, smirking. I should try not to scare her away like that again, or she might slip out of my grasp, I thought to myself. My cigarette dangled between my lips.

We finished first class, but Cass isn't at school yet. I checked her house, but she wasn't there either. Her phone isn't working, and I'm starting to worry. I should probably tell my parents. I'm scared, what if something happened to her? I was lost in my thoughts when she walked into the classroom. Speaking of the devil, I thought, gritting my teeth. I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw she was okay, but then my face turned angry. She looked at me and waved, but her smile quickly faded. Yeah, it shouldn't have been there in the first place. She walked towards my seat with an apologetic look, but I'm not letting her off the hook easily. "I'm sorry," she kept saying, but I just sat there, staring at her with fury. "Cassandra Walter, meet me in the ladies' room," I said with a cold smile, she shivered and walked out of the class, but not before seeing her shivers. She better be scared. "Hmph!".

We went into the ladies' room, Cass walking behind me with her head bowed. As soon as the door closed, I spun around to face her with a stern look. "Now, young lady, would you mind explaining where the heck you were from yesterday until this morning?" I said, my nose flaring. She cowered with a sad look, but I forced myself not to be moved by it. She opened her mouth, then shut it, and opened it again.

"I'm so sorry, Mal. I didn't mean to worry you. I was feeling stressed yesterday and didn't want to stay home, so I went over to Stacy's house. Before you ask, Cass cut in, 'Stacy works at the same club as me. She's like an older sister to me. I'm sorry I didn't check my phone. I slept most of the day to get some rest,' Cass said."

I looked at her with fake narrowed eyes, waiting to see if she would waver which she didn't. I sighed. "Cass, you could have contacted me. I was so worried, I slmost died of high blood pressure. I thought something bad happened to you. I was saying all the 'what ifs' while she kept apologizing. I know I'm starting to soften up, but I'm definitely not letting her off the hook," I thought to myself. She moved closer, trying to give me a hug, but I stepped back, giving her a fake glare. I turned my head, thinking about what punishment I could make her go through. Hmmm, Cass hates parties. That might just be the perfect punishment for her. I looked up at her, locked eyes, and said, "I'll forgive you... if you come to Eric's house party with me this Saturday." She opened her mouth, and I knew she wouldn't say no. She wants my forgiveness. I couldn't help but smirk.
