The anticipation hung in the air, each passing moment stretching into an eternity as I eagerly awaited Aiden's return. The days without him felt like an endless void, but today promised to be different—a day charged with the electricity of reunion. My heart raced with excitement, knowing that soon, I would finally lay eyes on him again, breaking the spell of his absence.

As the door closed, my heart quickened its pace – the sweet sound of Aiden's return. Eager anticipation filled the air, and there he was, standing before me with a smile that spoke volumes.

"Hey freckles, I missed you," he declared, pulling me into a kiss that tasted of adventure and homecoming.

"I missed you more," I countered, reveling in the warmth of his embrace.

A mysterious glint sparkled in his eyes as he revealed a box, a little treasure from the faraway auction. "So guess what I got for you?" he teased.

With delicate fingers, I unwrapped the gift, revealing a whimsical sculpture of a freckled cat donning oversized glasses, nestled in a pile of books. The charm of the piece mirrored Aiden's thoughtfulness.

"The moment I saw it, I thought of you," he confessed, and I felt tears welling up.

"Thank you, Aiden," I whispered, sealing my gratitude with a kiss that conveyed more than words ever could. The freckled cat, a testament to our shared quirks and joys, found its place on a shelf in our bedroom, overlooking the moments of our lives.

As we settled into the evening, stories from the auction unfolded like pages in a book. The freckled cat silently witnessed our laughter, the tales of distant art, and the quiet celebration of being together again.

"Why don't you go unpack and freshen up while I make you lunch?" I suggested to Aiden, wanting to ease him back into the comfort of home.

"Before that..." he spoke, his tone carrying a mischievous smirk. As he approached, my instinctive retreat led me right into a wall. "...I read one of your books on the flight back home, freckle," he revealed, his eyes dancing with amusement.

My eyes widened. "W-what? W-which book?"

"Oh, the title doesn't matter," he casually dismissed. "I especially enjoyed those pages where you stuck a red tab. So nice of you to mark my instruction manual, freckles."

I gulped, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks, and desperately avoided his gaze.

Aiden's laughter filled the air, and he gently lifted my chin, making me meet his eyes. "Don't worry, freckles. Your secrets are safe with me, even if they're hidden in the pages of a book. Now lets go i have been eagerly waiting to recreate those scenes let me show you how much better i can be." Without another word he led me to our shared bedroom.
