Silence followed and Yena started feeling guilty but kept her mouth shut just in case. She didn't mean for Chaewon to be in a bad mood, now she refuses to talk.
"You know exactly what I feel about all of this." Chaewon finally speaks after a few seconds of silence. Yena doesn't look at her but instead continues to drive and pay attention to the road ahead. She lets Chaewon talk on her own while she listens.
"I'm very much frustrated and stressed. I thought I'd no longer be seeing her again. She went back to New York and I knew that was miles and miles away, I thought my environment was finally Huh Yunjin free... but now she's in every class course I used to enjoy."
If Yena was being honest, she doesn't know how to respond to that at all. She knew what went down, she remembers everything very clearly as if it happened just yesterday. But just like any other student that has known what happened between Chaewon and Yunjin, she doesn't understand why Chaewon can't fully let it go.
Yunjin has been proven innocent before she even left the academy last year. She was just blackmailed into doing something that had affected Chaewon greatly.
It's unless Yunjin did something else to her that made them this far apart... not like they were close in the first place. Maybe something else that would explain Yunjin's sudden departure from the academy and the country.
And Choi Yena knew Chaewon long enough to know that she would never tell anyone anything if something else did happen between her and Yunjin.
Yena's simply not close to Yunjin at all to ask her anything. It would have been very awkward. She may have been Yunjin's very approachable senior, but she doubts Yunjin trusts her about these kinds of topics.
She turns the steering wheel to the left and they make a turn, she catches a glimpse of Chaewon's expression. Her brows were slightly furrowed and she was intently looking out the window.
"You still not getting along with her?"
"I don't think I need to."
It was true. Yena felt stupid even asking that question when she knew that Chaewon would respond exactly like that.
Because, indeed, Chaewon didn't need to.
It seems this conversation wasn't going anywhere and Yena was about to just drop it until Chaewon started talking again.
"Only good thing is she's no longer in the theater club- she's a basketball player now." Yena's ears perked up upon hearing the words "basketball player".
"She is? Since when?"
Chaewon shrugged, "Probably when she came back? I'm not sure. I only found out she was back around a few weeks ago."
"You know that we're competing against you this year right?"
The younger girl groans, annoyed at the reminder, "I do. The guys at your football team are assholes."
"I heard." Yena responds quickly, "It was huge, you know? It's the latest drama around campus."
"Ours, too."
"The boys on our football team really picked the most precious player of all, they were being stupid from the very start." Yena had clicked her tongue at the mention.
Even if she had already transferred and was no longer a part of SCE Academy, she would still side with them. Especially when she was fairly close to Jaeyun.
And she knew that she would be Chaewon's partner for the play this time around. Chaewon was so excited about it that she told Yena and Yuri about it as soon as she found out.
