Script 4: Auditions

She was about to say something to Yunjin when Yeonjun suddenly came up to them and spoke.

"Are you guys talking about Chaewon?" He started and everyone immediately looked up at him before looking at Yunjin who already had a frown on her face.

They were all expecting Yunjin to be the one to answer so they all kept quiet.

"I guess?" Yunjin responded and Yeonjun smiled. He sat down in front of them and started speaking again, "Pretty sure y'all heard about Jaeyun, right?"

"Of course. Everyone in the Academy has heard it." It was Yujin who answered this time, crossing her arms as she did.

"Then have you all heard about the Theater club?" Yeonjun asked with a wide smile.

They actually had no idea what he wanted to tell them but Minji spoke this time, "What about the Theater club?"

"They're holding auditions starting tomorrow. For, you know- for Jaeyun's temporary replacement."

Everyone shared a look. They haven't heard about this. If something like that were to happen, the whole academy would have known by now.

And considering the fact that everyone knew Chaewon would be the lead and would be needing a new partner, everyone would already be in line.

It's Kim Chaewon afterall.

She's pretty, smart, talented and kind.

Yunjin hesitates about the "kind" part but she very much knew that every guy and girl would kill to be able to get that spot.

And with just one look at Yeonjun, Yunjin already knows that she's after Chaewon.

The thought of it made Yunjin's blood boil. Makes her clench her jaw, grit her teeth and probably pop a few balls while practicing later.

But she breathes through her nose and acts calm.

"Says who?" Minjeong asks with a ton of attitude in her voice. She even had an eyebrow raised as she spoke. She tried to make herself look a bit more intimidating which probably didn't work.

Yeonjun was much taller compared to her. The boy would never be intimidated by her.. maybe, who knows?

"From Jay and Heeseung. They're still part of the club," Yeonjun points at the two boys on the other side of the court. "And, they're auditioning as well." He added.

"Good .." Yunjin whispers to no one but herself.

"You too?!" Ryujin and Minji point at him while Yujin looks at him suspiciously.

Yeonjun nods, looking proud and happy before Yujin speaks, "Why are you even telling us this again?"

"Nothing, really. I just heard you all talking about Chaewon and-" he stops for a second to look at Yunjin, "You seem to always be the talk of the theater club, Yun."

The said girl looked up, "Probably because I'm an ex member?"

"Probably." Yeonjun hums, "But they said they wanted you so I came here to make sure you aren't auditioning."

"God, Yeonjun. Shut up and go back to your side of the court-"

"Who cares? Go audition. I don't care." Yunjin cuts Ryujin off and looks up at Yeonjun with hateful eyes.

The boy smiles widely, saluting Yunjin, "I'll be counting on that." He says as if Yunjin promised that she won't be auditioning at all.

It's as if he didn't notice the way Yunjin looked at him. She had murder in her mind and he didn't look like he cared at all.
