It just so happened that they didn't have basketball practice today.
Yunjin doesn't know if she's lucky or not.
The ac inside the auditorium was probably on the highest level because Yunjin felt cold. Her hands were cold and she could feel her feet going numb.
Or maybe she was just too nervous to be there. Because she felt like she shouldn't be there.
She saw Park Sieun at the very front. She hasn't met her in a long while but she looked the same and moved the same- and talked the same.
She could hear her voice before she even entered the auditorium.
Her friends had pushed her in and forced her to sit in the middle- just in case she tries to escape, they can easily pull her down.
Yunjin rolled her eyes at the thought as her friends sat beside her on each side. She isn't going to escape anyway.
There was Sunghoon sitting up at the front as well, sitting beside Sieun. He was holding a clipboard like Sieun but Yunjin didn't think he'd be writing anything notable.
That's just how Sunghoon is.
And then there was Choi Soobin beside him. Yunjin doesn't know if he's finally part of the leaders in the club but knowing that he's in the student council just answers Yunjin's question immediately.
He's just probably there to help Sieun evaluate.
And at the very back, Yunjin can see Yoon Seeun with her trusty camera. She had her hair tied on a low ponytail and she had almost the same glasses that Yunjin wore.
Seems like Yoon Seeun is still in the journalism club/photography club. As loyal as ever.
Yunjin finally stops looking around the auditorium and looks up front.
There were a handful of men who auditioned. And every time, Yunjin would criticize them in her mind.
They look too stiff
He looks horrified and this scene is supposed to be romantic..
This guy's too emotionless. I doubt the crowd would feel the love at all.
Is he auditioning for a romance theater play? Or a fucking funeral??
Were all the things Yunjin would be saying in her mind. Even her friends would be silently laughing in their seats beside her.
Now, they were no "experts" like Yunjin. But they know when a person is good or not.
Especially when these men start singing and they're tone deaf.
Her friends may not be good actors but they're good singers and amazing performers, they can say a thing or two about music.
"God- Can anyone at least be .. good?" Ryujin comments and they all snickered.
"That's the whole problem. None of them are." Yunjin deadpanned and they all had a very hard time keeping in their laughter.
At one point, Sunghoon looked back at them and they all made eye contact with him.
He looked at them sharply before making a gesture and mouthing, "these people suck!" Before looking back up front.
And they couldn't agree more.
Yunjin was relieved that she's not the only one thinking this way. She's at least happy that they would never settle for less even if they're desperate for someone to replace Jaeyun already.
"Now what the fuck is this??"
They were all kind of startled with Kazuha's sudden comment. She rarely curses or swears, which causes all of them to turn and look at her with a worried expression.
"He calls that ballet?? He's a fucking joke!" She added.
They all started to laugh as they watched the boy do "ballet". He surely didn't know a thing or two about it which became the cause of Kazuha's irritation.
Sunghoon looks back at them once again and this time Soobin did as well. They all fake yawned before chuckling to themselves.
Those two were so unserious.
Yunjin had a slight smile on her lips when she finally saw who was the next person auditioning on stage.
It was Heeseung.
And he was amazing at the very start.
The next was Jongseong and soon, Yeonjun. The three of them were great.
Yunjin was impressed.
But somehow it made Yunjin's heart drop to her stomach. One of them could become Chaewon's partner in the play.
She should be happy and supportive as the three of them were kind of her friends but she wasn't.
Yunjin was silent the whole time her friends were talking about how great the three men were.
Of course they'd be great. They were known for being good basketball players and being talented performers. It shouldn't be a surprise at this point.
Her eyes wandered around the stage as the next few people came to audition. As if they all still stand a chance against Heeseung, Jongseong and Yeonjun.
They never did. It seems as if Park Sieun is just willing to give everyone else a chance to audition.
It wouldn't hurt to at least watch the others audition, right? But Yunjin was no longer focused on the people who were on stage.
She was now focused on Kim Chaewon who was peeking from backstage on the side.
Yunjin wasn't aware that the girl was there. She thought that it was only the three up front who were present. Not Kim Chaewon.
She may have said that she isn't even going to escape but now she does. She wanted to stand up and run out of the auditorium.
Go home or maybe just hide before Chaewon even notices her watching just a few seats away from Sieun and her friends.
The girl would definitely kill her if she spots her. Without nowhere to go, she slowly ducks down and hides behind the seat in front of her, acting as if her head hurts to avoid getting questioned by her friends.
The last thing she wants is for Chaewon to spot her and kick her out.
And maybe ban her from entering the auditorium or even from watching the theater club's upcoming play.
Yunjin didn't want anything like that. She can leave the theater club and never come back for Chaewon's sake but she would never be able to avoid watching them.
It truly was hard being Huh Yunjin around Kim Chaewon.
