Chapter 8 Dad And Daughter

Anne haved her worst dinner in her life. feeling everyone heating up with every bite they take is making Anne wonder, why are they releasing such a feelings?.

Joshua is worried, Roland is happy, Clark is furious. what happened?.

Anne glanced at Judy, and Judy looked at her in return.

"(Judy, do you feel how the air do release so negative feelings?)"

"(Yeah, I do Anne. donno what to do)"

Anne got her eyes away from Judy to Joshua, making him notice her staring at him, and smile to her, trying to seem like nothing's wrong.

After dinner, Joshua went to his room, and sit on his chair near his big bookshelves,

"I didn't expect that from mother"

*knock knock*

"who is it?"

"it's me Anne. I-I just want to ask you something"

While Joshua took a deep breath, he opened the door, and put back his smiling face,

"of course Ann, come in"

With a sad face, Anne got inside, and Joshua closed the door, and sit again on his chair.

"Uncle Joshua, why is uncle Ronald and Clark acting weird?"

"how weird?"

"I mean, uncle Roland were very happy, happy more than usual, and uncle Clark were furious over dinner too"

Joshua took another deep breath, and said,

"Ann, I can't tell you things like that"

"Oh... yeah, sorry... then..."

"???"

"Why are you sad?"

"I can't talk about that too"

"Okay. I-I'll go then-"

"Ann..."

"Yes?"

"Can you sit with me?, Just a little bit"

Anne formed a smile, and sit on the other chair, beside Joshua.

"There is another thing you came to talk about, right?"

"H-how did you know you tha- o-oh yeah that's right, you're right"

"then, what is it?"

"G-grandma said... said that she will get me adopted"

"Yeah, she told me about that too. are you happy?"

"Yeah but..."

"Is there something wrong?"

Joshua reached out for Anne's head, but she grabbed it by her hands, and looked at Joshua with teary eyes, making Joshua get shocked,

"P-please, please I want you to adopt me!"

Silence filled the room. Joshua were shocked by Anne and her words, but seeing her cry made him laugh, trying to make the atmosphere a bit happy,

"D-don't laugh uncle!. I'm serious!"

"Me too!, really. haha"

"Th-then, why are you laughing..."

"Because you were crying your eyes out, hopping I'll accept, even though you know that when you ask me something like that, it's delicious on my heart more than honey"

"... R-really!?"

"of course Ann. why were you thinking I'll not accept?"

"... I-I don't know"

"then, does that make me your father?"

Hearing that, Anne rethink about what she said, and got red after realizing what does her words mean,

"haha, your head is releasing vapor!"

Very slowly, Anne stopped grabbing his hand, and put her hands on her legs, and looked down in embarrassment, making Joshua laugh more, and pull her into a hug.

"A-are you accepting me because of pity or..."

"That's not possible Ann. I do want to adopt you if you want, and you did request me to do that, so everything's set then"

Joshua pulled Ann away a little، and wiped away her tears.

"Then,why not trying to call me dad?"

"WHAT?!!!?? AREN'T THIS TOO EARLY?"

"Really?, I don't think so, you're going to be my daughter in the end anyway، so why not?"

"No no no, let's talk about that later, I-I'm not ready yet"

Joshua formed a warm smile, and pat Anne's head,

"Okay, as you wish Ann. now, it's late. and you have to wake up early tomorrow to help your grandma, okay?"

"Yes. good night uncle"

Joshua let Anne go, and she got to the door, grabbed the handle, and opened the door.

Before closing the door completely, she glanced at Joshua,

"goodnight Ann"

"G-good night... dad"

"What???!!!"

Anne closed the door, and runned away from the room, making Joshua laugh,

"Haha. how does she think if she run I can't read her mind?"
