LAMENT OF A TORN APART GIRL

i am an equinox: half-day, half-night.

i am the river that splits in two.

i am the field overgrown with daisies.

i am the wishbone, always being pulled apart.

i am too much like this and not enough like that.

i am the hailstone that shatters when it hits the ground.

i am too much like that and not enough like this.

and if i stretch myself out any further,

i will split right down the middle.

one self will be like this and her hair will be tamed.

the other will be like that and her eyes will be dark.
