The detective led Lyra and Cyra to his office, where he began to question them in more detail about their mother's case. He asked them about their mother's daily routine, her friends and acquaintances, and any recent changes in her behavior or mood.
Lyra and Cyra answered his questions as best they could, but they were clearly still in shock and struggling to come to terms with what had happened. The detective was patient and understanding, but he knew that time was of the essence in solving this case.
"Can you think of anyone who might have wanted to harm your mother?" he asked, leaning forward in his chair.
Lyra and Cyra exchanged a look, unsure of how to answer. "We really don't know," Lyra said finally. "Our mother was always kind and generous to everyone she met. We can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt her."
The detective nodded, taking notes as they spoke. "I understand. But sometimes, even the kindest people can have enemies or people who hold grudges against them. It's important that we consider all possibilities."
Lyra and Cyra nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. They knew that their mother's killer was still out there, and they wanted to do everything they could to help the detective catch them.
As the interrogation continued, the detective began to piece together a timeline of events leading up to their mother's death. He asked them about any recent visitors to the house, any strange phone calls or messages, and any unusual behavior from their mother in the days leading up to her death.
Lyra and Cyra did their best to answer his questions, but they were clearly struggling with the weight of their grief.
Then Cyra remembered something, "But sir,uh..I remember something."
The detective noticed a sudden change in Cyra's demeanor and leaned forward, intrigued. "What is it?" he asked gently.
Cyra hesitated, unsure if she should share what she had remembered. But then she took a deep breath and spoke. "Before we found our mother on the second floor, we talked to her. But after thinking about it, we realized that she must have been dead for several hours by then. It was like she was a spirit or a ghost."
The detective's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean? Are you saying that you saw your mother's ghost?"
Lyra and Cyra exchanged a look, unsure of how to explain what they had experienced. "It's hard to explain," Lyra said finally. "But it was like she was there, but not really there. We could see her and hear her, but it was like she was in a different dimension or something."
The detective listened carefully, taking notes as they spoke. He knew that this could be an important clue in the case, but he also knew that he needed to approach it with caution. "Thank you for telling me this," he said finally. "I'll make sure to investigate this further and see if it's related to your mother's death."
"So, where is your father?" asked the detective.
They suddenly shed tears then Lyra said "Our dad, in heaven now."
The detective noticed the sudden change in Lyra and Cyra's demeanor and realized that he had touched a sensitive topic. "I'm sorry," he said softly. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to."
But Lyra and Cyra knew that they needed to tell the detective everything if he was going to solve their mother's case. Through tears, they explained that their father had been in a car accident a week before their mother was found on the second floor.
"We don't know what to do," Lyra said, her voice shaking.
