"While other believe it was a powerful sorcerer who could shape shift into a man wasting monster." Allison says spookily. "Any of this have to do with your family?" Lydia asks. "This. 'It is believed that La Bete was finally trapped and killed by a renown hunter who claimed his wife and four children were the first to fall prey to the creature." His name was Argent." Allison finishes. "Your ancestor killed a big wolf. So what?" Lydia deadpans making me roll my eyes. "Not just a big wolf. There's a picture in there of the beast." I say as Allison flips through the book. "What does this look like to you?" Allison asks flipping the book over to us. Lydia stares at the book getting lost.

"Lydia?" Allison asks concerned as Lydia's face turns to horror. "It looks like a big wolf. See you in History." Lydia snaps out of it and leaves. "Hey, after school can we talk?" I ask Allison wanting to be the one to tell her about the wolf stuff. "Yeah." Ally smiles at me. "Ok, great." I smile.

                                       -

I say in the hall for my free period when I hear footsteps approach me. "What are you reading?" Jackson asks standing over me. "Oh, just our chemistry chapter." I say smiling up at him. "Haven't you read that like five times already?" He asks sitting next to me. "Yeah, but I'm still not quite where I want to be." I shyly say.

"You'll be fine Stiles. You're like the smartest person I know." Jackson smiles at me. "Future valedictorian." I smile back at him. "Oh, yeah. I can picture you already on the stage with the cap and gown giving the greatest speech of all time." Jackson teased making me laugh. "1000%." I chuckle. We continue to talk as he distract me from reading until the bell rings.

"Let's go. Sit, sit, sit, sit . We got a lot to cover today. Let's go." Coach ordered as we better the classroom. Coach turns around and erases the board and begins to write things down. He turns back around and slams a book on his desk. "Let's settle down."

"We're gonna start with a quick summary of last nights reading." Coach says. I raise my hand with a couple of people. "Greenberg, put your hand down. Everybody knows you did the reading. How about, uh, McCall?" Coach says walking in front of the desks. "What?" Scott says making me roll my eyes. Of course he didn't do it.

"The reading." Coach says sitting on his desk. "Last night's reading?" Scott asks unsure. "How about the reading of The Gettysburg Address?" Coach sarcastically asks. "What?" Scott asks as students laugh. "That's sarcasm. You familiar with the term sarcasm, McCall?" Coach asks. "Very." Scott says looking at me. I avoid eye contact and stare at coach. "Did you do the reading?" Coach asks already knowing the answer. "Um... I think I forgot." Scott says quietly. "Nice work, McCall. It's not like you're averaging a D in this class. Come on, buddy. You know I can't keep you on the team if you have a D. How about you summarize the previous night's reading?" Coach suggests.

I hear Scott's heartbeat begin to skyrocket. Scott shakes his head. "No. How about the night before that? How about you summarize anything you've ever read in your entire life?" Coach says angrily making Scott's pulse bump up even higher.

"Anything? Anything at all?!" Coach yells. Scott shakes his head making Coach turn in anger and hit his desk. "Thank you McCall! Thank you, for extinguishing any last flicker of hope I have for your generation. You just blew it for everybody. Thanks. Next practice you can start with suicide runs. Unless that's too much reading." Coach yells before Scott's pulse slows down.

"Alright, Stilinski! You save what dying flame I have for this generation." Coach says. "Last night we were to read about traditional economies. Nearly all forms of economic activity, including the traditional economy and the use of limited resources, are rooted in ritual habit or custom. Traditional economies are used by communities like the Mbuti in Central Africa, the Australian Aborigines, and other indigenous peoples worldwide." I say making Coach clap. "See, that's what I'm talking about! Stiles, you get to be the first player to start practice." Coach exclaims making me smile at the praise.
