That stupid fucker really thinks he can make demands?
''I know, i know.'' I growl at Soap as I notice his disapproving glare. I take a few deep breaths to calm myself down.
Soap just shakes his head as he lets out a defeated sigh.
I walk back to the table, meeting Night's stern looking eyes.
''Anything you want to tell her, you can tell me.'' I bark, my stance firm as I won't let him have his way.
Night scoffs, and for the first time since we captured him, a small smirk forms on his face.
''Not a chance, Lieutenant.'' He mocks. It takes all my willpower to not lash out at him again.
As I tense up again I feel Soaps hand on my shoulder, he steps in front of me.
''Night. Y/n is still recovering.. If you ever cared about her at all. As your teammate..as your family, you will help us find Vince. At least tell us why you choose this path. ''
Night stares at Soap, and for a second he seems to be contemplating his words.
But his cold glare returns quickly, as he clenches his jaw. He is not budging.
My anger is again fueled by Night's demeanor. Like a raging fire within me, close to losing its control. If Soap wasn't here, Lord knows what i would've done to him.
''This isn't working.'' Soap suddenly says as his gaze turns to me, his eyes determined.
''Maybe you should check on y/n..'' He says softly, trying to calm me down, and also give me a not so subtle hint to just leave the room for now.
I scoff. The last thing I need right now is to deal with y/n's attitude when I'm already this pissed off.
''I'll see Price.'' I grumble as I turn around to make my way to the door.
But when I am half-way, suddenly a thought occurs to me.
I feel my eyes widen as I halt. After a mere second, I turn around to face Night again.
Both him and Soap look at me, surprised at my sudden move.
A silence falls between us. Soap knows my look and swallows, as we all feel the tension rising in the room.
I move slowly, my gaze burning into Night. But I am calm, determined to keep my emotions under control as my mind is racing.
''How long ago..Did you and Vince meet?'' I say the words very slowly, empathizing them.
FInally, after all this time, I see a slight jerk.
He didn't expect the question.
I feel a small smile creeping up on my face. A smile of disgust, as I frown my eyebrows so hard it starts to hurt. The tension reaches its peak as the words slowly escape my lips.
''Four found out. Didn't he?''
Soaps eyes widen, his mouth falling slightly open as he stares at me in shock.
Night growls, gritting his teeth as he burns his gaze to the floor. His eyes darting around.
''He always had to get it my way..with y/n..with everything..'' Night grumbles as he starts to breathe a bit more heavy, his shoulders rapidly rising and falling.
That's it. I broke him.
''You... sick fuck.'' Soap growls as he takes a step back from the desk, a look of shock and disgust on his face. ''Don't tell me...''
A cold calmth falls over me as I stand tall, my head slightly tilted upwards.
''You helped Vince kill him. Because he found out you were going to betray the team..'' I say coldly.
Night scoffs. ''And so what if I did? He betrayed me first by going after y/n. And on top of that, he was going to be promoted to fucking Lieutenant..Outranking me for fuck sake..Like i would listen to his fucking bull-...''
I slam both of my hands loudly on the metal desk, it makes Night choke instantly on his words as his enraged gaze burns into mine.
''Y/n blames herself everyday for his death. She has PTSD, seeking comfort in all god forbids.'' I growl at him, the blazing fire within me turning into a cold blue one.
I pause, as I let the tension between us rise again, spitting my words towards him.
''And now..you tell me she actually wasn't to blame? That you, her own teammate, helped to kill her beloved? For what, money..power.. fame?''
''IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!'' Night finally snaps as he starts to frantically struggle against his cuffs to break out of the chair. He is seething, panting as he growls.
''SHE SHOULD HAVE LOVED ME! NOT THAT WEAK SON OF A BITCH. VINCE PROMISED ME HE WOULD MAKE ME THE STRONGEST, MOST DANGEROUS MAN ON THE PLANET. SO SHE WOULD FINALLY FORGET ABOUT THAT FUCKING IDIOT!''
Got him.
Soap and I don't respond, as we simply listen to Night's heavy breathing filling the room, letting his words sink in fully.
Night is still struggling, as he tries to calm down.
I decide to again bore my gaze into him.
When Night's breathing steadies I simply look down at him, my gaze cold as my eyes are slightly narrowed.
''You know nothing about love.'' I spit at him.
Without saying another word to Night, I turn around. I give Soap a quick side eye.
''This information doesn't leave this room until I say so, can i count on you Sergeant?''
It's not really a question, more like a command. But Soap knows as he quickly nods.
Y/n isn't hearing this information, not until she is fully recovered and ready.
She would barge into this room and kill Night barehanded if she found out.
And i for one wouldn't be stopping her.
But this is only the start, a good one, but we still need more information about where Vince is hiding.
And if Night really has been working with him for years, I'm now confident he knows where he is.
For the first time ever, my heart feels heavy as I close the interrogation door behind me.
Will I still be able to witness her being consumed by guilt?
