“So he might not ever know that I’m carrying his child?” I whispered

He shook his head “he’s left his mobile here as well so I only have the number of his hotel where he’s staying”

I started to cry “I should have told him” I mumbled incoherently as I placed my head in my hands and sobbed my heart out.

I suddenly felt big warm arms around me as Liam comforted me. This made me cry harder as I clung on to him. What had I done? Why did I not just tell Cal when he was here earlier? What was I going to do?

4 weeks later and I was sitting in the passenger seat of Liam’s car as he drove us to the hospital. The last 4 weeks had passed quickly and my bump had grown quickly too! I placed my hands on it as I felt it gently.

“How are you feeling?” Liam asked kindly

“My backs sore but other than that I’m excited” I grinned

Liam had been by my side for the last 4 weeks and he had been amazing! We had got closer since he promised that he would help me. He had even stayed at mine a few nights (in the spare room I should add!) when I wasn’t feeling that great. He would run me baths and cook my tea and even massage my feet! Which was lovely.

“So what is it that were going for today?” he asked for like the hundredth time!

I laughed “were going for the 16 week scan and for the amnio test”

Finally, we made it to the hospital and we were currently sat in the waiting room as we waited for my name to be called. The waiting room was bright and full of baby pictures that I was guessing were pictures of babies that had been born here. The sofa was so comfy on my back, which I think whoever brought these sofas had done so for the comfort of pregnant women, thank god!

“Are you having the test first?” Liam asked as he absentmindedly flicked through a baby magazine.

I nodded “yeah so if you wait out here and then they will call you in to see the scan with me” I smiled

Liam beamed back “I can’t wait Amy”

“Amy Jenkins?” the receptionist called

“That’s me” I said as I got up gently

I followed her through to the doctor’s office where my doctor was sat.

“Hi Amy, take a seat” she smiled. I sat down and placed a hand on my bump “well I can see that baby is growing well” she beamed “how are you feeling g?”

“Well I have backache but other than that I’m fine” I smiled

“That’s great. So you’re having the amnio today and then your 16 week scan?” she asked as she looked at my notes

I nodded nervously

“Ok great. Well first I will talk you through the amnio ok? Some mums can be scared by it but everyone is different” she smiled “Firstly, I will do an ultrasound to locate a pocket of amniotic fluid a safe distance away from both baby and the placenta. Your belly will be cleaned with iodine and then I will guide along a thin hollow needle into your stomach, through the abdominal wall and into the fluid sac. I’ll take about an ounce of amniotic fluid. Once enough fluid is obtained, the needle will be removed, and you're all done!” she smiled warmly as I took all this in. it sounded normal enough to me.

“Will the baby be ok?” I asked

She nodded “baby will be fine”

“What happens then?” I asked
