Dabi would take very slow and careful spongebaths to not irritate the burn scars enough for them to start bleeding, and he only takes cold showers because he's worried that a hot shower will hurt too much against his burn scars.
Like Dabi might not always have the energy/motivation/etc to take a full bath/shower, like he doesn't really bath often but needs to at least still keep his clothes clean to maintain his hygiene, which is probably important for a villain- idk
— imagine him trying to be all menacing and evil while stinking like he hasn't bathed for weeks (no offense tho- 😭) —
But it makes sense that Dabi would be incredibly cautious about avoiding anything that might cause his burn scars to be irritated or bleed... and taking cold showers sounds like a realistic way for him to be able to get clean without the risk of irritating his burn scars.
