🌟✨Anansa's ''Star Of Freedom''⭐🌠

A few weeks later Anansa decides to celebrate her friends heritage(s) by cooking them a meal that is mainly from their heritage she contacted the Bridge and says through the com "Captian if you would be so kind as to let Uhura know I made her lunch and left it in her Quarters since I didn't think food was allowed on the Bridge"  Uhura grins as Kirk replies with a half teasing tone "when are you going to make me a meal!?!"  Anansa replies "isn't that what Janice is for!?"  Kirk raises a eyebrow and half of the Bridge crew try very hard not to laugh "we're celebrating heritages this week and American heritage is too boring to make a meal for!"  Anansa says this time the Bridge crew does laugh "Sulu, Scotty and Pavel have already had theirs and now it's Star's turn"  she says "Star!?!"  Kirk mouths with a confused expression on his face and he sees Uhura smile then he starts to slightly understand who his friend was talking about.... Spock finds out that Anansa suffers from a small version of insomnia she blames the fact that everytime she looks out the windows within the Enterprise all she sees is stars he knows that she goes onto the Holodeck every day to watch as sunrise and set, feel the rain and or snow fall upon her etc. but she also knows that it isn't real even though it in some ways feels and/or looks real so that doesn't really help either on the nights she can't sleep she'll go around and help everyone else.... which she does anyway when she doesn't have anything to do for him since she is mainly HIS Yeoman.... yes you heard right she is mainly his but the reason for that is because she's known him as long as she has and trusts him explicitly not to mention they're really close friends.... and "secretly" in love with one another.... then come to find out throughout the time she spends on the Enterprise from her first day to now that she knows and trusts more members of the crew than just Spock so as I believe I have explained before she mainly helps those she knows, likes and trusts Scotty, Bones, Sulu, Pavel and Uhura and as she said Kirk has Janice so "he doesn't need her" but she still helps him on occasion as well she's very weary of everyone else especially the males and as we all know even though we have yet to see them react to one another Christine hates her Christine hates the fact that Anansa gets more attention from Spock and that Anansa had made it so she can't enter Spock's quarters whenever she feels like it.... which is actually a relief to Spock who was far too kind to tell the woman no.... Bones had to inform his best nurse just how long Spock and Anansa have known each other and how close their friendship is which shocked the woman but she was still jealous of her luckily for the crew of the Enterprise Anansa's personality doesn't change despite her having insomnia and she is still very good at all the jobs she is either assigned to or assigns herself to.... when she helps out her other friends.... she does however ask Spock a very "strange" favor a few months into her assigned place on the Enterprise for she knows he worries about her not getting enough rest "I was wondering if you would record yourself either singing a lullaby or reading a book for me"  she says softly he tilts his head curiously at her "I find your voice very soothing and I'm hoping that it will help me fall asleep and I don't want you coming into my quarters every night just to make sure I do fall asleep.... unless you want to of course I do find your presence very comforting but since there's only one bed and I know I won't be able to fall asleep if you don't at least try to get some sleep yourself and I won't allow you to fall asleep in a chair.... maybe the couch but not a chair....!"  she says softly with a slightly nervous tone she pauses then says "nevermind, don't worry about it I'll figure out a way to....!"  he tells her softly "I wouldn't mind"  she raises her eyebrow at him and he hides a smile that night Spock "tested out" her "theory" by walking into her quarters with his ka'athyra (Vulcan lute) and a book.... after getting permission of course.... he knows she tries to keep to a schedule especially when it comes to resting/sleeping so he knew when to come to her quarters he saw her meditating and joined her then they had some tea after that he had her lay down and attempt to rest then brought one of her dining room chairs over to the side of her bed and the first thing he tries is a Vulcan Lullaby one his mother used to sing to him as a child and much to both of their surprise it seemed to work as soon as she felt herself become sleepy she said goodnight and closed her eyes he smiles softly at her now sleeping figure but doesn't stop singing the lullaby till he's finished even then he waits a few minutes before heading back to his quarters and trying to get some rest himself a few nights later.... so he doesn't make a habit of going over there everynight.... he tries reading her the book he brought and left in her quarters but this time he sits on her bed as she lays upon it and though it took a little bit longer than the song did him reading to her also worked then again it could have been his closeness as well he makes a mistake though for he falls asleep a few minutes after she does and ends up waking up in the same position the next morning Anansa doesn't say anything just smiles and makes him breakfast then massages his neck which became stiff because of the way he fell asleep "I recorded both so you don't have to continue doing this"  she tells him as she makes his breakfast he replies "I don't mind"  she says "I know but rumors fly fast around here so it's probably best that you don't Christine gives me a big enough headache just for being your friend I don't need it to become worse because she thinks I succeeded where she failed"  he raises his eyebrow at her she smiles sadly then says "and I'm sure you don't want your fellow officers giving you high fives for getting to places they'll never get to and asking you just how good it was especially since none of that actually happened"  she whispers to herself "I never should have asked you to do this!"  he frowns "I asked for the lullaby first because Nyota used to do that for me back at the Academy it was the only thing that actually worked.... she loves to sing anyway so it worked out for her too I suppose and the stories because that's what my mother used to do so I figured that would work as well then again I would get so enraptured by the stories I would want to stay up so perhaps that one was a bad idea but the lullaby and the story aren't the things I'm "kicking myself" for.... suggesting that you actually enter my quarters for a "nighttime rendezvous" is and not because I don't want you here but because of how fast rumors fly in this ship and I don't want to add to your troubles by being the lead cause of them not to mention as far as I know that is not one of the Yeoman's duties anyway"  she says he raises a eyebrow at her she chuckles then says "maybe next time instead of a story you can just read me one of your reports that'll put anyone to sleep!"  he hides a smile as he shakes his head at her he sees the logic in what she's saying but he likes being here for her when she needs him, he liked seeing how peaceful she looks when she sleeps but she's right he's a Vulcan that won't allow himself to feel, to love and to have people believe they were a couple when they aren't would hurt her and he doesn't want to do that in any sort of capacity he does however find it intriguing that it hurt him to hear that she regrets asking him to come to her quarters at night for something "so small" and "frivolous" which to him it isn't for making sure she's capable of taking care of herself like she takes care of everyone else is his priority "and no I won't be coming to your quarters either!"  she says he knew she meant it as a half joke but it still hurt his heart to hear it the pain somewhat goes away when she starts massaging his neck after he finishes eating he likes having her close, feeling her touch, hearing her voice.... damn he's really "got it bad" for her but as always he continues to hide what he knows he feels for her and hopes she feels for him for she's just as good at hiding her emotions as he is perhaps even better than he is.... when it comes to how she feels about him anyway.... he knows she considers him one of her closest friends and he makes sure that that is enough for him for he "doesn't want" anything else....
