Silence.
It has become a comfort for me. Since my parents always travel for work I have become very familiar with it.
My parents try to stop in at least once every four months, but if work calls then that's where they will be. Sometimes they will text me if they won't be coming home but other times they won't.
I am honestly disappointed that they weren't coming home because this year, our high school was celebrating the academic awards.
I received three awards this year. One for mathematics, another for human communications, and another for getting above 70 hours in the national honors society. I mentioned the ceremony and the awards I was getting but work always comes first for them.
I have never mentioned how much this affects me but that's because I don't want people's pity. Gracie, Blake, Ace, and even Mia don't even know.
My parents usually leave me with a good amount of money or they charge my card with about ten thousand dollars. I hate having money, especially an abundance of it.
My whole childhood I have been surrounded by money. We grew up pretty wealthy and we keep getting wealthier every day. I have the option of driving a Jeep Wrangler, a Black Audi R8, and a White Tesla.
Then there is Ember. She is my mom's parent's maid but they always ask her to come down whenever they leave. She also gets a good amount of money when she's down here with me.
It's hard to say but she has had an impact on my life. I don't think of her as a maid. I think of her as my friend the person I can share anything with.
She's the one who helped me become who I am today. I think of her as someone who has impacted my life for the better because without her and God I wouldn't be like who I am today.
I guess you could say that I'm a Christian, although I don't attend church regularly or read the Bible as often as I would like to, I still consider myself a Christian and have a strong belief in God. My faith in his existence gives me hope and comfort during difficult times. Despite the challenges of life, I know that I have a higher power to turn to and trust in.
Now my friends have known about my religion and everything in my life but the one thing they don't know about is Ember. I keep her a secret from them for the most part because I think it resembles how wealthy my parents are, which should be a good thing but to me, it can be a blessing and a curse.
