Chapter 11: Operation Cube de sagesse noir (Black Wisdom Cube)

Start from the beginning

"You're still a motherfucker John." He spit in his face.

"It's alright, I believe her." Sous-lieutenant Vogel forcibly kissed the Commander before pressing the barrel against his head and blew his head apart. Bits of hair, flesh, skull and brain matter going ever. Standing up the Legionnaire turned his head towards the Russians, giving them a crooked smile. "Vy znayete, chto delat (You know what to do)."

Cracking their joints, all three Russians smiled maliciously, taking aim at the prisoners all neatly lined up. Not even having a chance to run, they too were mercilessly gunned down.

"Don't you love how former commanders are an intel treasure trove?" He asked Captain Anderson in a joking manner or well tried to anyway.

The American chuckled and so did everyone else. "Yep, they're dumb alright and God you're a crazy bastard. I like crazy."

"Don't you love how we were all gay for eachother." Lieutenant Reed joked earning a chuckle out of everyone, even the Legionnaire.

Out of the corner of his eye he could see the four Kansens had stopped fighting and stared in horror at what they just witnessed. Their beloved Commander was no longer a sweet innocent boy but a monster capable of unspeakable horrors. Killing for pleasure, his eyes said it all. A monster to Cleveland and Belfast. A soldier taking out the trash. To the superstitious Sakura Empire girls, Sous-lieutenant Vogel was consumed by the death card, seeking revenge no matter what, no matter who got in the way. Commander Benclyff slowly crawled away while trying to cling to life as blood gushed out of the many bullet holes from 5.45×39mm and 7.62×39mm gunshot wounds. Not saying a word the Sous-lieutenant kicked his former friend over, one of many Commanders who've hospitalised him, making him the man no demon he is today. The Legionnaire smiling, his deathly aura consuming him as he fired point blank, several .45 ACP rounds into her torso and for good measure a few to the head as well. "Putain de cafards. Ils ne savent jamais quand mourir (Fucking cockroaches. Never know when to die)." Still smiling with his maniacal look he turned towards the four Kansens unlucky enough to witness the unorthodox side that was war. "Sorry, NATO has its own view on this war. Worry about your fight and we'll worry about ours. For your sake Cleveland you better not have been filming you can always be put back together. One wisdom cube at a time." This sent a shiver down her spin.

They didn't say a single word to their former Commander, only taking a few steps back. The cogs in their heads slowly turning on what to do next. Confront their former Commander, ignore the UN peacekeepers and fight the Red Axis or run away. In the end they choose to fight each other, how predictable. Programmed to never hurt a human unless harm was done to them. What was going to prevail, lady like elegance or wanting to be a hero?

Nerves were high as both sides hesitated to engage, waiting for the other to make the first move. Takao and Atago held their katana high in a ready position, Cleveland bit her bottom lip and Belfast made a nervous fist as her whole body shook. "You can go ahead." The blond light cruiser instructed, sensing the maids' nervous attitude.

"Are you sure?" She inquired, her voice clearly displaying how nervous she was.

"Of course I'm pretty strong, it's fine. Besides, I can tell how worried you are." Cleveland reassured the maid. That said, she made her move. "Let's do this!" Belfast leaped over the two Sakura girls landing behind them while Cleveland charged head on into the middle before leaping over them doing a backflip and opening firing with her 4 × triple 6"/47 calibre Mark 16 guns. As Takao rushed towards the maid, katana in hand but stopped as she leaped into the air again as the Eagle Union cruiser drew their attention again. 6" shells peppered the entire area.

"1st, 2nd and 3rd in position, do you want us to move in over?!" Inquired all three fleet Commanders over the radio while shouting over the background noise of the Iron Blood ships continuing to press the attack on Sheffield and Edinburgh.
