Helena: What kind of documents?

Rector: Documents such as the marriage certificate between Robert "The Bruce" and Isabel de Burgh from 1302, the document dating from 1294 where we have William Wallace's signature pledging allegiance to Robert I of Scotland, we have a document detailing Robert's coronation dating from 1306, we also have documents from the reign of Mary I of Scotland, among others.

The Dean the Dukes and Helena visited some parts of the library, where the Dean spoke to both of them.

Rector: At the moment the library is being given a facelift, as you can see, we're going to plant trees, redo paths so that people can come here to read and study, as you can see in the first floor, we've just finished building a café where you can not only drink coffee but also read in the sun. We've also finished installing one of the fastest internet networks in the world and of course new toilets and elevators.

Kate: A library for this century.

Rector: Indeed, we think a lot about the students who study here.

The dean and the dukes with the princess walked a little further (about half an hour) and they were at the entrance to a building.

Rector: Well, here we have our new building which replaces our old gym which has been in use since the 1960s. This new building has about three floors with all types of workout machines, it has 9 bathrooms that can accommodate 20 to 50 students per hour, showers, and of course on floor 2 to 4 rooms we have a sauna and massage rooms.

Kate: And the access to the gym?!?

Rector: All you need to get in is your university student card or your gym access card.

William: I'm very impressed with what the university is doing. It's really wonderful.

Kate: I agree with Willi, we certainly didn't have this when we were here but teenagers have to take advantage of what universities have both to teach and also to help.

Rector: I agree with what you both said, I also studied here in the 80s, back then we didn't have the internet, we had to go to books, ask our relatives, and the financial situation was bad.
