Enid led Wednesday and Raven through the dimly lit halls of Nevermore. As they walked, Enid couldn't help but chatter with excitement. "Nevermore was founded in 1791 for outcasts, freaks, and monsters like us," she exclaimed, a glimmer of genuine enthusiasm in her eyes.

However, both Wednesday and Raven remained unresponsive, their attention fixed on a black and white photo displayed in a frame in the trophy case. It depicted their mother, Morticia Addams, engraved with the words "Nevermore's triumphant 1998 National Fencing Champs."

Enid paused, noticing their distraction. She joined them, peering at the photo. "Isn't that your mother?" she asked, her voice carried.

Wednesday's expression remained stoic as she glanced back at Enid. "You can save the rinse and repeat sales pitch," she replied, her tone dry. "Unless you have a layout of the school and its weaknesses, we don't plan on staying here long."

Enid scrunched her face in confusion. "Why not?" she asked, genuinely puzzled.

Raven let out a sigh, her voice laced with frustration. "It was our parents' idea for us to come here," she explained, a flicker of hatred crossing her eyes. "It's disgusting, actually. It's a part of their plan."

Enid nodded, her eyes widening with curiosity. "What plan?" she inquired, eager to uncover the truth.

Wednesday glanced at her twin sister, Raven. "They want to turn us into versions of themselves," she revealed, her eyebrows furrowed.

Enid's expression shifted from curiosity to relief. "Well then, maybe you two can explain something," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of apprehension. "There's a rumor going around that you two killed a kid at your old school, and your parents pulled some strings."

Raven's lips curled into a sly smirk. "Actually," she replied, her voice dripping with dark amusement, "it was two kids. But who's counting?"

Without another word, Wednesday and Raven continued walking, their dark presence captivating Enid's attention. She hurriedly followed in their footsteps.

As they rounded a corner, Raven abruptly came to a halt, her head turning to a seemingly empty space. Enid couldn't help but notice the change in Raven's demeanor. She cautiously approached her with caution. "What are you looking at?" she asked, her eyes flicking to the empty space and back to Raven.

Raven quickly diverted her gaze from the ghost and met Enid's eyes. "It's nothing," she replied curtly, her tone masking her true thoughts.

Wednesday, ever perceptive, peered at her sister and narrowed her eyes. "Is it happening again?" she asked, somewhat uncaring.

Raven sighed, her frustration evident. "This place must be filled with these spirits," she muttered, her lips pursed in a tight line. "But I don't want to help, not this time."
