"Another dead body, brutally murdered, was found—" I grabbed the remote from the coffee table, silencing the reporters words and pressed down on the off button and sat it back down, my eyes going to my little brother.

"You don't need to be watching that, Jeno." I grabbed both of our empty bowls and got up off the couch and walked to the kitchen.

He hopped up, following me. "Why not? Shouldn't I be aware?" He asked, crossing his arms and looking like he was ever so smart.

"How are you going to become aware by seeing pictures of blood and guts?" I raised a brow, washing the bowls quickly. Jeno didn't answer me, he just crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.

"Don't you know him?" My brother asked.

"Know who?"

"The person that was killed." He responded as I put the dishes in the drying rack. "Jaemin?"

My body froze as I heard Jaemin name. I turned around slowly, pausing. I wasn't sure how to react. I was sad, of course, but I didn't know him that well to start crying. He was nice to me, and I was fairly certain he had a crush on me, but that was about it. "Yeah, I did."

"Were you friends?"

"I guess, kinda." I shrugged.

"He was stabbed seven times, and then his throat was slit!" Jeno's exclaimed, eyes widening.

 "Can you believe that?"

"Jeno!" I scolded him. "Have some compassion, he was just murdered! This isn't some horror movie. You can't just gush over how grizzly the murders were."

His lips pulled into a frown. "You're right. I'm sorry."

"It's fine."

"Can I go to Felix's house tonight?" Jeno asked, walking over to the counter and grabbing a banana. "Pretty please?"

"I don't know." I crossed my arms. Then I thought about it more. The chances that the killer were in my room last night— a series of chills ran down my spine when thinking of that— were very high. That means they were in the house with Jeno, and if that were to happen again, he could be in danger.

As much as it pained me to admit, it was dangerous for him to be around me. I wasn't sure why, if the killer was indeed in my room last night, they didn't hurt me, and even went so far as to compliment me, though it was creepy as hell.

"Sure. Since Mom and Dad are out of town for work, I think it's best you stay with them for the remainder of the time."

"Yes!" Jeno shouted, bringing his hand down in an excited motion."When will he be here?" I questioned.

Jeno gave me a sheepish smile. "He's actually already on her way."

"Of course he is."

I had searched this house top to bottom two times, before I locked the doors, and after I locked the doors. I could feel paranoia grasping me, holding me in its clutches at even the quietest of sounds.

I stayed in my room almost the whole night, only willingly leaning if I absolutely needed something. I felt safe in my room, which was ironic considering that's where I could've been killed last night.

I held my phone up to my ear, listening to the sound of the line ringing. It rang a total of three times before Aeri picked up. "Hello?"

"Hey, Aeri. How are you?"
