The deaths of Malyen and Laenor on Driftmark were indeed shrouded in suspicion and tragedy. Rebekah Targaryen's grief and anger were palpable as she demanded justice for her fallen husband and nephew. She knew deep down that their deaths were no mere accidents, but rather the result of foul play orchestrated by those with their agendas.

Despite her love for Malyen and her fondness for Laenor, Rebekah was not blind to the political machinations at play within House Targaryen. She could sense the involvement of Daemon and Rhaenyra, two figures who had always harbored ambitions that often clashed with her desires for peace and stability.

Rhaenyra's seemingly genuine condolences for Laenor only fueled Rebekah's suspicions, as did Corlys's advocacy for Malyen, which highlighted Rebekah's grief-stricken silence on the matter. She knew that her inability to speak about Malyen without breaking down only served to highlight her vulnerability in the eyes of those who sought to exploit her pain for their gain.

In the wake of the tragedy, Rebekah found herself torn between her desire for justice and her need to protect her children and herself from further harm. She knew that she had to tread carefully in the treacherous waters of court politics, for any misstep could lead to her downfall.

But despite the challenges ahead, Rebekah remained determined to uncover the truth behind the deaths of her loved ones and to ensure that those responsible faced the consequences of their actions. And as she embarked on her journey to seek justice, she knew that she would not rest until she had found peace for herself and her family, no matter the cost.

The tension crackled like lightning at the private dinner. Daemon raised his goblet in a mocking toast to Malyen, a smirk dancing on his lips as he glanced at Rebekah. "May he rest in peace," he said, his voice dripping with insincerity.

Rebekah's eyes narrowed as she felt the weight of his gaze, her suspicion mounting with each passing moment. Meanwhile, Viserys I remained oblivious, lost in his thoughts.

Later, on the beach, Rhaenyra pleaded with Rebekah to stop and talk, but Rebekah's determination was like stone. Daemon trailed behind, frustration etched on his face as he attempted to shift blame onto the Greens.

"Stop this childishness, Rebekah," Daemon snapped, his words tinged with irritation.

Rebekah whirled around, her anger flashing like a storm. "Childish?" she hissed, her voice barely above a whisper. "My husband is dead. Why would I want anything to do with you after what you two did?"

Daemon's response was callous, his words sharp as daggers. "It was bound to happen," he muttered, lacking remorse. "The consequences of your actions, accepting that farce of a marriage."

Rhaenyra interjected, her tone tinged with guilt but devoid of apology. "He was holding you back. A wall between us," she said in their mother tongue, her words carrying a sense of justification. "We could be together now."

Rebekah's resolve hardened with each passing word. With a swift strike to Daemon's cheek, she made her stance clear. She would not be manipulated any longer. Turning away, she left them behind, her heart heavy with grief and anger, but also with a newfound determination to seek justice for Malyen's death and protect her family from further harm.

Tears welled up in Rebekah's eyes, blurring her vision as she faced the painful reality before her. "Is that how you see it? Forget it. You two don't even exist to me anymore," she declared, her voice trembling with a mixture of sorrow and anger.

As Rebekah made her way toward Helios, a familiar figure emerged from the shadows. Alicent Hightower approached, lifting her skirts to navigate the sand, and enveloped Rebekah in a tight embrace. The Targaryen returned the gesture, finding solace in the warmth of their connection amidst the turmoil.

"Viserys mentioned that you'd be joining his council," Alicent remarked as they parted, her concern evident in her eyes. She longed to wipe away Rebekah's tears, to offer comfort in the form of a gentle kiss, but the watchful eyes of others prevented such displays of affection.

"I'll only be gone for a short while, just need to gather my bearings and check on the twins. How is Aemond?" Rebekah inquired, her voice laced with worry for her eldest son.

"He's devastated. Your return, and that of his cousins, will surely lift his spirits," Alicent assured her, offering a reassuring squeeze of the hand.

With a final squeeze in return, Rebekah whispered, "I'll see you soon, my love," before mounting Helios and soaring into the sky, her sons trailing behind on their dragons. As she disappeared into the distance, Alicent watched with a heavy heart, longing for the day when they could be together again, free from the shadows of secrecy and sorrow.
