Closer Than You Think

With the recent update on Sicarius and finding out that Spencer was closer to Sicarius as that was what had Spencer pissed off and avoiding everyone especially his wife but only Matt understood to let him be until he calms down as Matt luckily enough made sure to always include Emily with any events that him and his wife would go to that Emily would be able to join them in doing so

Matt made a promise to Emily that he would make sure to check up on Spencer whenever he was free to do so that's exactly what he was doing now as he entered his best friends house with two cups of coffee in his hands as he made sure to close the front door behind him then made his way to Spencer's office and just walked in considering his hands were full as Spencer looked up at him not surprised to see him there as Matt then handed him the cup of coffee

Emily ask you to come and check up on me? Spencer asked as Matt nodded before sitting beside him and began to look over the paperwork that was in front of Spencer as Spencer continued working

Ya, she's concerned Grim. Matt said as they both continued to work on the paperwork

I know, I'll make it up to her for avoiding her. Spencer said not looking away from the paper in his hand

I know you will Grim but for now, let's finish this. Matt said as Spencer just nodded and they spent the rest of the day working on the paperwork until late afternoon

Matt and Spencer left to go pick up Emily from Matt's place as Emily was happy to finally see her husband outside of the house as she said her goodbyes to both Matt and Kristy before getting into the car as Spencer drove them away after waving goodbye

Hi baby. Emily said smiling at her husband as he smiled back at her

Hey babe, sorry for avoiding you for so long. Spencer said as he held onto her hand and Emily tightly held

It's okay baby, at least your back to your normal self. Emily said smiling as Spencer continued to drive them to the restaurant that he booked for them to make up for the fact that he had been actively avoiding his wife for almost 2 weeks as Emily looked at her husband lovingly

They finally arrived at the restaurant as Spencer opened the passenger side door for Emily to exit before guiding her to the front entrance of the restaurant as Emily stared up at the design of the restaurant in total awe before turning to look at Spencer who had a massive smile on his face and was only staring at Emily

What is this place? Emily asked as they continued to walk towards the host that was standing behind the podium

I wanted to make up for the fact that I had avoided you since the day we found out how close we were to getting Sicarius but didn't know that we were that close to him. Spencer said as they made it to the host

What can I do for you two today? The host asked as he referred to the both of them

Reservation for Reid. Spencer said as the host looked at the list of names in front of him before finding his name then addressed him again

Right this way sir. The host said as he grabbed two sets of menu's and guided them to the booth that Spencer had gotten for them which was near the window so that they could see above Virginia and see the skyline as Spencer pulled out Emily's seat so that she could sit down before he too sat down and they began to look at the menu then shortly called the waitress and ordered their food

I missed this baby. Emily said smiling brightly at her husband as her husband smiled back

I missed this too and luckily for us, I don't have to go on any confidential assignments anytime soon. Spencer said smiling brightly just as their food came to the table as they both thanked the waitress considering that they order a whole bunch of food before they enjoyed the rest of the night catching up with each other and Emily was just glad that her husband was back to his normal self

They ended up going to the beach after eating dinner at the restaurant and were currently just sitting on the beach looking up at the night clear sky as Emily had fallen asleep in his arms as Spencer immediately took notice of his wife falling asleep as he gently gathered his wife into his arms and brought her back to the car and drove them back to their house where he did the same thing and brought her to their shared bed after waking her up to get changed into more comfortable clothes then joined shortly after she had completely fallen asleep as he pulled her into his arms closer to his body before falling asleep
