CHAPTER FIVE:THE BITCH

Magreredecorate kami ng main office and training hall ng YMADA. Si Cassie ang naghahandle. Just my luck. The lady really hates my guts. Kanina pa ko pinagiinitan. 

"DE VEGA! I TOLD YOU TO MOVE THE EMPTY BOXES THERE!"

"DE VEGA! KUNIN MO YUNG MGA PAPERS SA DRAWER!"

"Cassie, don't be too hard on Valeen. We have others to do the job, wag siya ng siya." Bryan scolded her.

I smiled gratefully at Brian. My savior. Lol :D

She glared at Bryan. "O eto, bilhin mo nalang tong mga to" inabot niya sakin yung listahan.

Bigla namang dumating si Kyle. "Sorry I'm late"

Cassie smiled at him. Bitch. Bitch. Bitch. 

"It's okay. Oh Valeen ano pang hinihintay mo?"

"Fine." I started to walk away.

"Hey wait! San ka pupunta?" ---Kyle

"Bibiling materials"

"Sama ko!"

"NO! Kyle stay here. Baka kailanganin ka namin dito." Hinawakan ni Cassie yung braso niya.

"Let him go with her. Hayaan mo ng may kasama si Valeen. I can't go eh, may aasikasuhin ako" --Bryan

Cassie is reluctant pero napilitan din sya. "Fine. Bumalik kayo agad" She gave me a sharp look.

I smiled sweetly at her then took Kyle's arm. Kyle is surprised pero nakisakay na rin. Lalong sumama yung tingin ni Cassie sakin.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Pagkalabas na pagkalabas namin ng office, I immediately drop Kyle's hand.

"Wag ka nang mahiya sakin. I don't mind you taking advantage of me" He gave me a playful grin.

"Eww. I just want to piss Cassie off. Stop daydreaming"

"Sus gumagawa ka pa ng dahilan. If you want to touch me, all you have to do is ask."

"Ang hangin"

Nakarating na kami sa parking lot. Sumakay kami sa kotse niya then went to a hardware store. Bumili kami ng paint and other materials. Last stop namin yung mall. Pumunta kami ng national book store para sa file holder.

"Hey have you read this book?" Pinakita sakin ni Kyle yung hawak niya. Deception Point.

"Uh-huh. Maganda. I love scifi"

"Figures. Medtech student ka diba?"

"Yep."

"Do you know what they say a medical student loses first?"

"Yes. Faith or any belief in God." I smiled. "Alam mo ba kung bakit nila nasabi yun?" I asked him.

"Of course. Gross Anatomy 101. You dissect a human cadaver and no matter how close you look, you can't find a soul"

"Exactly"

"So have you lost yours?"

I never expected to have a profound conversation with Kyle. He looked so shallow. It's a proof that there's more than meets the eye. 

"Hmm. Let's say at first, it made me doubt. But human body fascinates me. How it works...it itself is a miracle. Many people—educated people—lose their faith because they think Science is God. But for me, the role of science is merely to find explanations on how God's creations work. Maybe many people would argue with this logic but then again, they are  entitled to their own opinion. As I am with mine."
