- Charlotte's POV -

Those words he uttered, were as unreasonable as this whole situation is, not fully sober I still understood such words were not fit for this situation

How could he?

I just poured my heart out and all he wants to do is hold me. I could feel my face heating up, maybe it was embarrassment? or was I mad? I couldn't differentiate my own feelings from one another. This man made my head spin in all different directions, in such a way that it's neither painful, but just like a rollercoaster. 'I hate you, Kaiser!' Those weren't just empty words; they held so much weight for him, I know it. The air was heavy, my heart was heavy, but Kaiser didn't reply. The silence was more than enough to give me a response; I could tell that Kaiser tried to maintain his quirky expression but failed embarrassingly. Disappointed but expected, I slowly backed away from him and turned my back towards him. I sighed heavily and walked away from the two of them, hearing every step I took; the hallways felt empty. I reached the hallway that led up to Matthew's room, and after that was mine. My heart ached for someone to talk to, to be honest, almost enough to knock on Matthew's door. I hadn't noticed the red-eyed freak stalking me. For days, I didn't come out of my room. It was pretty, but it still felt a little bland. All I saw were white walls with beautiful shades of pink and red roses, and a golden mini chandelier in my room. Today was no different, besides two boxes of chocolate – not to mention my favourite To'ak chocolate. 'Is this for me?' I whispered, trying my best not to drown in my own saliva."

Knock knock

"Charlotte?" I turned my attention from the box of chocolates to the door and swallowed, knowing the voice behind the door was probably Andrew. I didn't answer him – I mean, how could I after everything that happened between us just two days ago...? So instead, I wrapped myself in my blanket, hoping he would quickly leave. Unfortunately, he persisted. "I... I just wanted to say, I'll be leaving for France for two weeks. I-I just wanted to tell you because... actually, I don't know, but, yeah, please take care of yourself till then." The more Andrew spoke, the softer his voice became, as if he were reading me a bedtime story, lulling me to sleep. I closed my eyes and savoured his beautiful voice, feeling like I was on cloud nine. "A-and, um, Kaiser bought you chocolates... yeah, h-he said they were your Favorites. Um, I'll stop now. Bye." Andrew bid goodbye, but his footsteps lingered at the doorstep for a moment before he finally made his way away from my room, his footsteps growing quieter. "Ah, big brother, you're here too?" the person talking just outside of my room was probably Matthew. "O-uh, hey..." I heard Andrew reply. "I guess I can't keep pushing them out of my life, huh..." I whispered under my breath, almost inaudibly.

Knock knock

"Charlotte? It's me, Matthew" Matthe knocked on the door patiently "May I come in?"

Ah good grief, I guess this pup wouldn't hurt!

"Um... come in," I say in a tired tone, with the little energy I had. The door creaks open, and in the middle of the doorway, I see Matthew holding a bouquet of beautiful flowers. They consist of yellow and white roses with pink tulips adorning the sides. "Um, I heard you coughing all night, so I decided to bring you some flowers. I didn't really know what you liked, but it smells really nice!" His face lit up with a beautiful yet awkward smile, as if he were hesitant. His slightly tanner face, compared to Andrew's, had a lovely tint of red on his cheeks. I couldn't help but stare wide-eyed at the very sight of him. His blonde hair, which turned a golden brown around the ends, framed the cutest puppy eyes that could melt my heart. I'd probably thank him if they pounced at me. He approached me with steps that seemed to ring bells in my ears. Matthew stood closer to me, then got on his knees and placed the flowers on my lap.

"Matthew... you shouldn't have," my heart fluttered as his scent grew stronger. "It's alright, I want you to get better so big brother can stop worrying about you," Matthew replied, his eyes hinting at sadness. My shoulders slumped in disappointment. "Ah, so it's about Andrew again, huh?" I couldn't help but feel hurt, as if he didn't care much about me. "Y-yeah!" he smiled bitterly, twirling his eyes around the room. His gaze fell to the floor as if he was upset and didn't believe his own words. "Ah, well, I have to go see Andrew off." Matthew gently put a hand on my head and caressed it, making me lose focus when looking into his beautiful sky-blue eyes. His expression was soft to the touch. "Charlotte, take care, alright?" I could feel my face burning up, and my voice felt weak. The only thing I could mutter was a soft "Mhm." Matthew gave me a friendly smile and removed his hand from my brunette hair, making me long for him even more. Luckily, as his cousin, he didn't catch on and continued to take steps out of my room. I saw Matthew turn his direction from my doorway to the hallway that led to the stairs downstairs and watched his silhouette disappear into the darkness. Then, a little sound came from the same direction Matthew had just left to. "Ouch! Sorry, man," I heard him exclaim to someone whose voice I didn't recognize. But my eyes blocked their respectful conversation, and I closed my eyes.
