That Little Girl 🌕

The pale moon, the pale face,

The glittering sky,teary specks.

The trail, which has lost its pace,

An alluring resemblance, a cruel fate.

The child was weeping ,her eyes closed.

Without warmth, lost in the winter cold.

Why, wasn't there an embrace for her?

Or wasn't it warm enough?

She had those people who slapped her little hands away when she cried for help.

They broke her down when she needed them.

Muffled her voice when she screamed,

They bound her hands, whenever she drew.

With their soul-shattering words.

And, finally, when she looked up to them, they looked down on her.

Mocking her for being a pathetic weakling.

The little mind promised itself to never look up for help, to never cry or beg.

To never draw or speak.

And, when she is all grown up,

The little girl is now a woman.

They call her a heartless bitch.

The child and childhood,

Lost along the way,

And,

The pathetic aristocrats, now looking for innocence,

In those orbs,

Which once waited for them,

Once shedded for them.

This poem is dedicated to my favorite actress .

The ethereal beauty, Madhubala ji.

"Jahe naseeb. Kaanton ko murjhane ka khauf nahin. Phool to murjhha jaate hain, lekin kaante daaman thaam lete hain."

Translation: "It depends on fate. There is no fear of the thorns withering. Flowers wither, but the thorns hold on."

Honestly, I was not satisfied with how this one came out
