the boy next door (jake sim)

- ur family had moved you into the house the boy had lived in almost all his life

- when u were helping ur family bring things in from the car on the first day- he had been getting home from hanging out with some friends

- you made eye contact with the boy and he smiled- waving at you and you politely waved back

- then later that night you were decorating your room- trying to make it more you

- then when you hanging up your curtains on the rod above your second window you saw the boy walk into his room which you had figured out in the moment- was across from yours

- he made eye contact with you of course and once again smiled and waved

- you smiled and waved back just like before and went back to doing what you were doing

- the next day after you got home from grocery shopping with your mom- his mom had been outside watering some plants in her front yard

- ofc mom's being mom's- both of your guys' parent's greeted one another and had come up with the plan to meet up at the sim's place for dinner

- you knocked on the door with a decent outfit on- due to your mother scolding you and forcing you to look 'more presentable'- and a hot container filled with some 호떡 (hotteok)

- your mom stood beside you with her hand on the small of your back- ready to greet whoever would open the door

- the door then opened revealing miss sim and you all greeted one another before being let inside

- her husband then walked out of the kitchen and greeted both your mom and you

- "jake! they're here!" miss sim then called out

- seconds after- the familiar boy came down the stairs and you both unconsciously smiled at the sight of one another

- then at the dinner table mister sim sat at one end- miss sim sat next to him on one side and your mom sat across from miss sim on the other side- jake sat next to his mom and you sat next to your mom- across from him

- the two of you hadn't really spoken much but you'd started a little game of footsies under the table while your parents spoke with one another

- after dinner- your guys' parents had wanted to spend some more time with each other before dessert so you were told to hang out with one another in the basement

- jake led you down to the basement which was nicely decorated- it was very cozy

- you then sat down on the couch and jake sat next to you

- "how old are you?" he asked

- "16" you responded

- "what about you?" you then asked the boy

- "16" he said with a smile

- you guys then went on to talk about the most random facts about yourselves as you had a movie that neither of you paid attention to in the background

- you all ate dessert and hung out a bit more before your mom had decided it was time to head back home since at this point it was 11:00 PM

- "how about you guys exchange numbers?" his mom suggested

- and so you guys did just that

- you'd continued to talk over messages and had even hung out a few times after that

- around two weeks then passed and you were knocking on his front door- your bag on your back and two unopened ice pops burning your hand due to the coldness

- Jake opened the front door and out came a dog that you had never seen before

- the dog excitedly circled around you and you had greeted it

- "this is your dog?" you asked

- "yeah, her name's layla!" he responded

- you both sat at the edge of the pool in your bathing suits- your feet and lower calfs submerged in the water

- you then felt his hand go behind your back and push you into the water

- you came up and brushed your hair out of your face with your hands- lowkey feeling betrayed-

- he then came into the water and the two of you played around- splashing one another- racing- and doing usual pool games like marco polo and things of the sort

- that night after you got home and showered you had saw him through your guys bedroom windows

- he smiled and waved and you had done the same back- just like the first night

- over that summer you guys continued to hang out with one another nearly daily and your families had noticed how close you two had become

- then one night- you and your mom were over at the sim's place but you hadn't thought much of it since your two families had continued to hang out with one another's often

- that was until they had asked us to sit down at the table for a little discussion

you guys weren't really talking it seriously though and he had started to play footsies with you like usual

- "are you guys dating?" his mom then randomly asked

- we both stopped and looked at our parents

- "what?" you say

- "we're not dating mom" Jake said

- his dad raised his eyebrow and both our mom's looked like they didn't believe shit

- "we're really not" i told them

- "hm well you can continue denying it- it's fine we get it- you're teenagers" his dad said

- "we just want you guys to know about the importance of protection" my mom then said

- oh my god not this

- "we understand that you guys are both hormonal teenagers and we understand that this is an age where a lot of firsts happen" his mom tells us

- the both of you couldn't even look at one another throughout the whole unnecessarily detailed conversation

- after the conversation you guys both escaped up to his room and as soon as he shut the door you both burst out into laughter
