"Birthday prank..." (Diego's 8th birthday)

So, he immediately got ready, took a shower, brushed his teeth, got dressed, and then he ate his breakfast. With a big smile on his face, he walked into the living room, there was a family, his parents and two sisters were sitting on the couch,

That is where the prank had started, along with a plan...

"It's time to clean the house," Sabrina announced as she got up from her seat. Diego's smile dropped into a confused expression, He titled his head as he watched his family start to clean the house, but he just shrugged it off and started to do cleaning chores.

Each of them had a task to do, Diego's task was to fix the beds, as he was finishing making his bed, out of his corner of his eye, there was his two sisters, Daisy and Alicia with disappointment expressions on their faces, which worried Diego.

"Did you see how the way he made the beds?" Daisy asked.

"Yeah! It was so horrible!" Alicia said back while glaring at Diego.

"Huh—" Diego tried asking but—

You know hermano, your work can do so much better! I mean, you are now 8, so start working like an 8 year old!" Daisy explained with her voice raised a little.

"What—" Diego tried asking but—

"And how could you break our parents' wedding dishes!?" Alicia asked while being "furious. "

"But I didn't—" Diego tried defending, but—

"And how dare you steal our stuff! Those are our stuff, not yours!" Alicia growled.

Tears were in Diego's eyes. He couldn’t believe he was being accused of something he would never have done. He would never do a poor job of making the beds. He would never break his parents' wedding dishes. He would never steal from his sisters.

His parents and sisters mean everything to him, and he woke up on his birthday to be accused of this!?

Emotions were all over Diego. Without thinking, he ran over to the door, shut the door, and locked it, then he curled up into a ball and started to cry his eyes out. This is not how his birthday should be treated...

However, the prank didn't end there...

Outside of the door, Diego can clearly hear the conversation between his two sisters...

'What an irresponsible brother of ours!' Daisy faked cried.

'All can he do is cause trouble!' Alicia said.

'I wondered why our parents adopted a troubled kid like him!?' Daisy asked.

And just like that, Diego broke from there...

Adopted...

He was adopted...

How can that be?

Wasn't he a real Márquez?
