"What is this place?"

"This is where people you Topsiders don't want to think about, wind up." I reply, a slight bitter tone sleeping through in my voice.

One man whinpers holding his hands out to us expectingly. Caitlyn grabs her flash light and shines it at him making him snarl and turn away. She turns it to others making them quiver and hide as if for cover. None of these people have seen light in a good long while. She switches it off.

"It was never this big though." Vi comments.

We look around and Vi spots a house under the giant neon sign. She tells us we should go to it and we awkwardly turn to get to the house.

As we enter, we take a quick glance around, seeing colourful drawings on the walls, and set Vi on a table, seeming disoriented. She lazily looks about the house before Caitlyn goes to clean Vi's face. Vi uses her arm to block Caitlyn's attempt.

"I know you have your reservations about me, but this only works if we can trust eachother."

"It doesn't work. It never has. You Topsiders always find a way to screw us."

"I suppose Topside is to blame for all your problems?"

"No. Not all of them."

"We aren't monsters you know. We're people, just like you."

"You don't know anything about us."

"We shouldn't have left you."

Caitlyn hands me the handkerchief, deciding it best to let me do this. I shuffel closer to my girlfriend and bring the fabric to her face. I clean any cuts or bruises or breaks in the skin as the two others continue to talk.

"It's alright. Despite it all, I can tell... you have a good heart."

I gasp softly remembering what Vander had told her that day. I look softly into Vi's eyes and know she was thinking that too. I smile gently at her before moving to clean the open wound on her torso. She winces and I grimace slightly before continuing.

Once I fully clean the wound and stop the bleeding, Vi drifts into a sleep. I smile at her peaceful face and turn to Caitlyn.

"You should go, find something, like medicine or I don't know, just something. I'll stay and keep look out. You never know when Silco could get here."

"But you know this place better than I do. Surely you'd find you way around here easily?"

"I didn't grow up here. Unlike someone who I suspect did. Either way, neither of us know our way around here."

"Fine. She'd be happier to see you if she wakes up any way."

"Thank you. Good luck."

She smiles and walks out of the door. I lay Vi down into a more comfortable position with her head in my lap and I wait.

It's not long before Caitlyn walks back through the doors holding the medicine in her hands. We lay Vi down flat on her back once I am up off of the seat and we wake her. We open her mouth slightly and pour in the pink substance.
