Start from the beginning

They waited for five minutes after the shadow had passed before they both stood up. Damon noticed at the top of the room there were tubes. The tubes had a bright blue liquid inside of them. "What the fuck?" he whispered to Callista as he pointed at them. "What are those?" she asked. Damon shrugged his shoulders. There was a door at the other end of the room that the tubes lead through. Damon motioned for Callista to follow him. The moved into the next room. There was an empty bed with dried blood and broken restraints, and a wheelchair with dried blood on it. Callista was shaking uncontrollably now. Damon turned around, just as anxious as she was. He put the shotgun over his shoulder and put both of his hands on her shoulders. "Hey, hey, it's okay. We can do this. This is what we trained for. Right?" Damon asked Callista. She took a few deep breaths and calmed down then nodded to Damon. Damon smiled and motioned for her to follow him. Inside, Damon was just as terrified as she was, he was just putting on a brave face.

They moved into the next room following the tubes. Then on to the next, and the next. As they were moving into the next room Damon spotted two precursors. Callista and Damon immediately took cover behind an office desk that was on its side. "Follow my lead." Damon said. Callista nodded in response. They both swung out of cover. The Precursors were in their human forms. CLICK CLICK Damon made the noise from his mouth. Both Precursors turned around. Before they could realize what was happening Damon squeezed the trigger and shot the Precursor in the sternum. Callista squeezed the trigger on her assault rifle and her gun silently spat out bullets hitting her Precursor in the sternum. The bright blue eyes of the Precursors faded as they fell to the ground. "Nice one." Callista whispered. "Thanks." Damon said as he nodded back. They proceeded to follow the tubes back out into the main hallway. There was a four way intersection of hallways up ahead. Damon and Callista both heard an iron door slam and they both crouched down. Up ahead in the dark, two precursors could be seen carrying Silas. "Fuckers." Damon whispered as his blood boiled. The Precursors were moving in the same direction as the tubes on the ceiling. Damon motioned for Callista to follow him. They both started following the Precursors very slowly. Up ahead were double doors. Damon could also see two Precursors in their human form guarding the door. The Precursors carrying Silas went through the double doors. The two Precursors guarding the doors shut it behind them.

"We have to get in there." Callista whispered. "I know. I'm just trying to figure out how we can take them out." Damon whispered back. "Let's see if we can loop around this hallway and sneak up on their side." Callisa said. Damon nodded as they began to loop around the hallway. Still crouched, they moved silently. Just as they turned the corner, they froze. There was a Precursor standing right in front of them in human form. THe Precursor seemed just as surprised to see them as they were of it. Damon didn't hesitate. CLICK CLACK could be heard as Damon cocked the shotgun. The precursor didn't hesitate either. It slapped the shotgun out of Damon's hands. Damon lunged at the Precursor, trying to make as little noise as possible. He was able to put the precursor in a chokehold. He drew his knife and drove it straight at the Precursors sternum.

He missed and it landed in it's lower torso due to it fighting frantically for Damon to release it. Callista tried to line up a shot but there was no guarantee that it wouldn't go through the Precursor and hit Damon. "Do it." Damon said as quietly as he could. Callista squeezed the trigger and a volley of silenced moissanite bullets spat out of her gun. She hit the Precursor square in the sternum. It's blue eyes faded to black. Damon pushed the dead Precursor off of him, panting heavily. Damon stood up. "Thanks for that." he whispered as he pulled his combat knife out of the Precursor and sheathed it at his waist.

Damon picked up his shotgun off the floor. They continued their plan and looped around to the Precursors guarding the doors. "This is so weird. They've never been this coordinated or shown this level of intelligence." Callista whispered. "I know. It doesn't make sense. I have a hunch that we will find some answers behind that door." Damon said as he pointed to the door. As they approached the door the Precursors came into view. "Okay, I'm going to distract them and when they turn to us we shoot em. Got it?" Damon said. Callista nodded. Damon stood up and made a slight whistle.
