Synopsis

They say that witches should steer clear of muggle affairs, for the passage of decades is but a whisper to them, while mortals age and wither. Yet, Elizabeth Fitzroy is inextricably entangled in the very fabric of a battle long past its inception. Decades ago, the Muggle world witnessed a monumental change with the passing of new laws that finally granted some women the right to vote. However, the struggle endures, and it has become evident that the language of violence and death is the only one men listen to. The Daughters of Cain are on the rise again and Elizabeth, faced with the promise she made once long ago, must now fight in a war that isn't hers

Amidst it all, Elizabeth is forced to return to her alma mater as the new Arithmancy instructor at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She embodies the traits of a good professor, being empathetic and patient with her students and she knows enough about her subject to feign being passionate but her real motive is to infiltrate the inner circle of the notorious Tom Riddle, a boy she knew from her school days who just so happens to be the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.

A master of deception, Elizabeth navigates a treacherous dual existence that straddles both the magical and non-magical realms. Deeply embroiled in deadly schemes that would condemn her to a lifetime in Azkaban, to secure her freedom Elizabeth must become the perfect spy for the enigmatic Dumbledore who watches her every move. Every piece of information she collects is a lifeline, but for how long exactly will Dumbledore continue to turn a blind eye to her unspeakable misdeeds? Blood does not betray blood and she was a Lestrange once after all.

Perhaps the most dangerous game she plays is the one where she must protect her heart from the very person she's supposed to be guarding the world from. As she teeters on the edge of betrayal and redemption, Elizabeth must tread carefully in a high-stakes game of secrets and survival, where her loyalties are as uncertain as the future itself. The fate of two worlds rests in her hands, and the price of failure is unimaginable.

A/N: lol sry if that synopsis was kinda crap, I suck at summaries yall. Just wanted to publish this intro so I remember to actually work on this otherwise it would just get lost in my sea of WIPs. Disclaimer, there might be historical inaccuracies. Some of the suffrage movement events don't line up exactly how I'd like them to so I will be shifting the dates around a little to suit plot purposes. I've been dying to write a historical fic based on suffragettes for the longest while and although the Tom Riddle era occurred significantly after, I think it still works out because in those few decades, a lot of progress was being made in terms of women's rights and the fight didn't just end with the vote. I kept seeing the hot prof Tom Riddle edits and I had to hop on the bandwagon lol, hope yall enjoy my take on it :)

As usual, don't be a ghost reader. I live for yalls comments/questions/concerns/reactions, even a keyboard smash is highly appreciated and encouraged. Love yall lots <3
