"What do we do?" Rose asked, completely panicked.

"We... run." Replied the Doctor.

"Is that it?"

He raised an eyebrow, clearly stating that this was not the time to be questioning him. "Got any silver bullets."

She scoffed. "Not on me, no."

EJ shrugged. "My father did."

"There we are then, we run." The Doctor concluded as swiftly as he could, knowing that they had wasted far too much time. "Your Majesty, I recommend a vigorous jog. Good for the health."

He took the Queen's hand and ran up the stairs at as fast a pace as she would let him. They had many stairs to climb up to even have a chance at safety. With the Doctor, it often felt that way, and EJ had to remind himself otherwise. He needed to fight for his survival, the same as anyone else.

However, as they ran, they could hear the werewolf follow. It took greater strides, and if they didn't move faster, they would end up on the duff end of an attack. They didn't want to be wolf meat.

"Come on! Come on!" The Doctor waited until they had all passed him so he could push them down a corridor.

It was as they turned the next corner that they could hear the wolf, and just how close it was becoming. The Captain joined them, firing his gun into the creatures face as soon as it dared to get close to them. He gave them a moment to keep on.

"I'll take this position and hold it. You keep moving, for Gods sake. Your Majesty, I went to look for the property, it was taken. The chest was empty."

"I have it," She said, curtly. "It's safe."

"Then remove yourself, ma'am." The Captain looked to them, stern faced. "Doctor, you stand as Her Majesty's protector. And you, Sir Robert, you're a traitor to the crown."

The Doctor lunged forwards with the hope it might change his mind with what little time they had. "Bullets can't stop it."

"They'll buy you time. Now run!"

They did what was asked of them, and nothing more, but EJ wouldn't pretend he felt good about it. The Captain continued to hold strong until the werewolf got to him, and even though he screamed and cried, it was noble. EJ dragged Rose into the room as she watched it happen; he couldn't bare to see it anymore.

"Barricade the door." Sir Robert directed as they grabbed as much furniture as they could, piling it against the door to wedge themselves in.

There was a faint howl, to which the Doctor's ears pricked at. "Wait a minute, shh, wait." They did as he asked, and when it fell silent, he spoke again, ear pressed against the door. "It's stopped. It's gone."

Rose hushed. "Listen..."

"It's walking away..." EJ hissed, confused.

The Doctor whispered. "Is this the only door."

"Yes sir," Sir Robert replied far too quickly, because he recorrected himself moments later. "No!"
