"Tteokbokki~" She squealed as she's mixing her food around with chopsticks before taking a mouthful bite.

"I swear, if I could only live everyday eating tteokbokki, I'll be having a happy life already." She said while she's chewing happily.

"Yeah, what about your mint-chocolate ice cream? You're cheating on it? What about your breads and milk teas?" You asked jokingly nonchalant.

"I'm such a horrible person..." She faked a cry as she continued eating nonetheless.

You two continued your dinner, sharing food with each other until the last bites while watching the movie in between.

You cleaned the table while Hanni's eyes remained fixed on the television screen before you went to the kitchen to dispose the trashes.

After a short while you came back with your little notebook as you sat back down next to her. Her eyes reverted to you who's turning over pages from the book, a familiar sight for her.

She tried to focus back on her movie but it came back into her mind, the scene of you on that stage. Hanni's head was filled with floating words that you spoke around and around as she remembered the slight pain that she felt upon hearing it.

Hanni looked over to you who completely focused on your notebook, writing away in your own world.

Though that's a familiar view of you for Hanni's perspective, this time she's observing your facial expression, your calm and focused expression as she began wondering.

"Are you okay?" She asked so suddenly that your hand stopped writing before you looked over to her.

"Me? I am okay, why?" You asked in confusion. "N-nothing..." She hesitantly shook her head. "...nothing, just checking up on you."

"Those words you said on stage before..." Hanni asked after a couple minutes as your hand stopped writing. "...Was it your fear or did it actually happened to you?"

Your lips remained sealed as you of all people knew that she's right. The thoughts you had on that stage reflected on one of your many fears.

A fear that revolves around the regret of losing this friendship of yours and Hanni's over the fact that you're wanting to be more than just friends with her.

"It's just the instant thoughts I had..." You faked a smile. "... it's not a fear nor did it happened to me before, no. We poem loving people is always like that."

"Right... Yeah I think you're right. Sorry for asking." She nodded while looking away from you.

"Are you okay?" You asked her the same question calmly. "I am- I am okay..." She heaved a silent sigh before went silent for a moment. You wanted to ask more but decided not to as you continued writing.

"Do you like Danielle?" Hanni suddenly asked after a short silence and immediately you looked over to her.

"W-what?" You're too surprised to say more. "Danielle seems to be interested in you." Hanni didn't want to look at you as she's looking down at the table instead.

"Wait, wait hold up, Danielle? Marsh?" You closed your notebook as she finally looked at you with unreadable expression. "No. I don't. Where did that come from?" You asked, still surprised, still confused. "Sorry." Was Hanni's only response.

"You didn't do anything wrong Hanni, I just want to know your reason for thinking that" You asked calmly. "It's just..." She sighed. "...both times she came over to us, she looks so excited and lively seeing you. I saw it in her face"

"She even told me she knows this habit of yours, writing on that little book while saying that she wanted to see the things you wrote in that." Hanni answered, trying to stay calm. "... I even lied to her saying I don't even get to see what you wrote in that book."

"I know I'm not supposed to act like this, I'm just your best friend." She added and that broke a bit of your heart to hear. "...I'm sorry, even as a friend, I'm not ready to lose you." And that broke your heart even more. "I'm being protective more than I should. I know and I am sorry. If you indeed do like her, I just want to hear it first from you."

"Thank you for caring Hanni." You said softly while her eyes remained on you. "As for Danielle. She's not more than just a girl I shared classes with. Yes, she's a lively and cheerful character but not only to me do she acts that way. Every single people she talked with, she's that character."

"I don't have any emotional attraction towards her, not now, not yesterday, not tomorrow. I just started University a few days ago. I rather spend it bickering with you all day." You made her snickered slightly.

"Thank you." She heaved a relieved sigh as you nodded with a comforting smile.

Pushing that all aside, Hanni continued watching the movie, you continued writing in your book.

You two went all the way to the third movie where halfway through, Hanni dozed off to sleep, laying her head and arms on the table.

You didn't notice her as you're reading stuffs you've written in your book. Pages by pages flipped, words by words read, you finally looked at a sleeping Pham Hanni. You glanced at your watch as it's already reaching the midnight mark too fast.

You closed your book, placed it on the table. Your hands were about to carry her before your heart stopped you from doing it. Gently you shook her body slowly. "Hey miss Pham. Wake up." You whispered near her ear as she's moving her head slightly in response.

After a few more shakes, she slowly sat back up, rubbing her eyes with a yawn before looking at you with squinted eyes. "It's already late. You're crashing here tonight." You told her calmly.

"Is it...?" She looked at her phone screen as she sighed. "Okay, guess I'm sleeping here tonight." She gathered her strength to stand up with her eyes felt heavy.

Shutting everything down, you two exited the room as you're approaching a guest room beside the stairs. You went in, turned the lights on along with the AC. "Here, you can use this room tonight." You walked out the room.

"Thanks." She whispered with a sleepy tone. "I should tell my parents I'm sleeping over." She called her father who picked up after a couple times and told him.

After getting the permission, she went into the guest room as the cooling air already made her sleepier than she already is.

"Good night mini Pham." You said as she just giggled softly. "Good night~" She waved at you before you closed her door and went straight upstairs to your room.

You got into your room, readying yourself to sleep on your bed. As you already closed your eyes, trying to sleep, your phone suddenly rang.

Opening your eyes, you fetched it from your side and saw the screen.

Hanni's video calling you.
