i got home around half an hour ago. that stupid
matt guy was still on my mind for some reason
and i don't know why.

i was staying over in my bestfriend summers
house since we're going to a party tonight.
fridays are my favourite day of the week because
that means parties and obviously no school
the next day.

i stuffed my outfit and some backups into my
duffel bag, carefully placed my makeup inside
and same with my pjs.

i knocked on summers door. she quickly opened
it and hugged me.

"what are you wearing tonight?" she pulled herself
up on her counter. "nothing" i teased. she rolled
her eyes. "i'm wearing my usual, baggy pants,
crop top and my sambas" i smiled. "you are
just the cutest" she squeezed my face.
"enoughhhhhh."

me and summer were finally ready. we were
waiting for our uber. it was nearly fall in la.
it wasn't freezing out but the wind was cold.
it made me regret not bringing a hoodie.

summer held my hand as we walked into the party.

there were people making out, doing shots, dancing
your generic college party.

"summer, tate!" summers boyfriend josh called
us. a smile quickly formed on summers face.
she left go of my hand and wrapped her arms
around his shoulders. "hi babe" he kissed her.
i stood there awkwardly beside them. "hi tate."
josh nodded his head at me . "joshua." i nodded
back.

josh was a jock. he played every sport in the
books. but he stopped and went for hockey.
he's also terrified of my father, which i think
is hilarious.

"you wanna get a drink?" summer asked.
"of course" i smiled. "let's go" she grabbed my
hand and left josh with his friends.

my drink of choice tonight was vodka and coke.
i didn't wanna get that drunk tonight, so i diluted
it pretty well with the coke. on the other note
summer filled her red solo cup up with mostly
vodka and a splash of sprite. i warned her but
she said she'll be fine.

we walked back to the josh. the circle he was
standing in, was now bigger. my eyes scanned
everyone's. it locked with that matt guy, yet
again. i quickly broke it and hid my face by
taking a sip of my drink. "the guys think
we should go to the beach tomorrow?" josh
asked summer. "let's hope im not hungover
first sweetie" she leaned against him. i cringed.
i hated when she called him sweetie, it's like
she's his mom. i now took a gulp of my drink.
the boys were having small conversations
with eachother.

i was standing by summer awkwardly sipping
my drink.

"hi" i heard someone say beside me. matt.
he appeared beside me, i didn't even see
him move. "hello matt" i took another
sip of my drink. i know i said i wasn't
gonna drink that much, but right now i
needed it to socialise. "you wanna get a
refill?" he asked referring to my drink.
i looked down and saw barely any liquid.
"sure." i smiled.

we walked over to the drink station. my eyes
scanned the selection. i probably shouldn't mix
my alcohol. matt leaned himself against the
counter and crossed his arms. he looked so
good it made me crumble. i cant believe i
just thought that.

he put his fingers through his dark messy hair.
"where's your brother?" i turned around and
asked him. my back was to him but i could
feel his eyes burning into me. "he's somewhere
probably making out with a girl" he chuckled.
i poured myself some coke, a splash of vodka.
"generic" i teased and sipped my drink.
"you want a drink?" "i am quite the bar tender"
i jokingly teased. this is what the alcohol does to
me, gives me confidence. he smiled at me.
"i'm alright, im driving tonight" he put his hands
in pockets. dissapointment washed over me.
i wanted to drunkly makeout with him. no you
don't tate. stop this.

"okay then, shall we go back to everyone?" i ask.
"i'm gonna go outside it's a bit hot in here." he said before taking off his hoodie making his t shirt
rise. i could see his flat stomach and the waist
band of his boxers. my stomach was going
crazy. "uh sure."

he has tattoos i'm gonna scream.

we stood outside the cool air both hitting us.

i moaned and put my head back. god it felt good after being inside of that heat box. i pulled my
head back up. matt was staring at me with the
eyes he gave me earlier. "quit staring" i sat on
the patio chair. he smiled and sat down beside
me. "so matthew, what are you intentions
right now?" i asked. "matthew?" he grinned.
"yes." i smirked.

"well i-" matt got interrupted by screaming and
shouting. he looked at me concerned and stood
up.

we walked through the crowd. this brother was
on top of some guy beating the shit out of him.
matt passed me his hoodie, without saying
anything. i quickly grabbed and held it
closely.

"CHRIS" matt yelled. chris stopped and looked
at matt. he looked guilty. "what are you doing?"
he asked, nearly shouting. "he slapped her
ass" he referred to some girl that had tears
streaming down her face. "get up" he put his
hand out. chris took it and stood up wiping
his hands after, acting like he didn't just make
some guy face purple.

everyone turned back to the conversations they
we're having before the fight happened.

"chris!" "your an idiot" matt said. "i don't regret
my decision, i was making out with that girl
and then that guy comes along and slaps her
ass" he put a hand through his hair. "we're
going" matt inhaled. "fine by me." chris
said before walking towards the door.

"fuck tate, im sorry" matt said taking my hoodie
from hands. his finger briefly touched my arm.
i probably shouldn't but i loved when he said my
name. "it's good" i nodded my head. "i don't care that he hit that guy, but it could ruin our career"
matt looked down at me. his eyes looked dark.
"career?" i wondered. "doesn't matter, i'll see
you tate."
