Chapter 2 (Part 2): The Story of the Professors

Author's Note: I have to split this chapter into two parts because I didn't really have enough time to write it all in one, and the two parts make no sense together anyway. Following this, all chapters will be released bi-weekly. Sorry for the two-week delay on Chapter 2, Part 1. I just wanted it to be saved for Part 1: The Teal Mask. I promise this is the only two-part chapter.

Also, Brock and Misty are not introduced until Chapter 4 in the physical version. Brock states that this chapter makes Bouldershipping real. I am slightly partial to that ship, at least over Amourshipping.

02/17/2034 08:37 AM, Professor Oak's Perspective

I'm working at the Stow-on-Side market center. I have nothing better to do while my lab is on renovation. The Kantonian government is completely rebuilding Pallet Town and I hate it. It's not common you see a Professor in their nineties just working outside of their lab. Most are retired by this age. But not me. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.

I'm not going to be here much longer, though, because I'm leaving for a trip in about an hour. It's called "A-Catching We Will Goh." It's kind of obvious who is on the trip. Goh, most likely Ash, and probably Cinderace or something like that.

02/17/2034 08:51 AM, Misty's Perspective

It's time to leave. Not that I have five hours before the bus comes, just that I should probably get some last minute things before I leave for good. This'll probably be my last time in Stow-on-Side for a few years, so I better give this place a proper send-off.

Psyduck and Politoed seem excited to go, but Starmie is still sleeping. Still hasn't adjusted to the early waking thing, I guess. I have to go wake him up.

Starmie didn't seem so happy about that. I'm soaked.

02/17/2034 08:58 AM, Brock's Perspective

I just fed Steelix for the last time before we're supposed to leave. I've been notified that the bus is supposed to stop at the entrance to Galar Regional Road 50 and Stow-on-Side East Market at 10:02 AM. It looks like I'll be sharing a room with Ash. I did travel with him for nearly thirteen years, and now whenever I'm not busy with doctor work I just go and hang out with him and whatnot. Makes you think that "boulder shipping" thing is real.

02/17/2034 09:06 AM, Chloe's Perspective

The time has come for my winter camping trip to end. Don't ask why, my mom suddenly had a brainwave and my dad had a Glalie. Yamper's half freezing now. So is Eevee, who is hidden under my coat.

We're right at the edge of Stow-on-Side and Glimwood Tangle, a bus stop Goh has called "Glimwood Edge." I'm sharing a room with Misty. I think I saw her admiring Goh's Inteleon once. It was the day they first left Cerise Park.

My mom and dad are packing up the tent, so let me get Yamper in my coat too. After this, my mom and Parker will drive back home to Circhester, and me and my dad will... wait another hour for the bus.

02/17/2034 09:08 AM, Chrysa's Perspective

Me and my research partner, Ren, are currently stuck in Glimwood tangle. We are lost within the mushrooms, and a Galarian Ponyta ran over our GPS. Good news: Ren's Rotom Phone says that the "Terraribus Route 100," driven by Goh, will arrive at the mushroom fields where the wounded Rapidash lives in about two hours. He better not be kidding, we've been trapped here for two days.

02/17/2034 09:18 AM, Goh's Perspective

I feel like Inteleon's skills somehow always complicate matters. Only two seconds ago I realized there are ten times as many buttons as a regular car in this cab. Only one second ago I realized we are due to be at Professor Oak's stop in 29 minutes. Only now have I realized it may take 29 years.

I admire his engineering skills though. What I don't admire is the fact that Cinderace has just burned his newest creation: a speaker.
