Welcome curious readers to the start of my first major work of fiction - we begin in the vast depths of space thousands of years into our future, with a ship filled with traumatized children fleeing a war they never asked for.
While this is primarily written because it's the sort of story I want to read, it's also highly political and anti-fascist. The central message of the story can be summed up as "War is hell but living under fascism is worse". If this offends you, good. Leave now, we don't want you here in the first place. If you are one of the millions of marginalized people currently at risk of experiencing the rising tide of right-wing violence, then I hope this story can provide some vindication as a diverse cast of teenage characters slaughter their oppressors in over powered giant robots.
Touchstones include: Dune, BattleTech, Warhammer 40,000, Voltron, the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, and Hyper Dimension Fortress Macross if you look hard enough.
