Chapter 32: Opportunities

Start from the beginning

"But the police wasn't to supposed to know....." Dagger argued.

"So what, you're saying someone tipped them off?" Diablo paused.

"This isn't the first time, Boss. I'm sure there's a mole within us." Dagger stood up and walked towards Jayden and Luke.

"And who might that be?" Diablo questioned.

"Who do you think it is, Jayden?" Dagger smirked.

"You think it's me?" Jayden knew what Dagger was insinuating.

"Feeling guilty?" Dagger snarked.

"Why would I?" Jayden challenged.

"Ever since you came in, our plans have been going haywire. Everything was fine before you!" Dagger scoffed.

"Came in? I was here all along, wasn't I?" Gotcha. Jayden looked at Dagger before turning to Diablo.

"Enough of your nonsense!" Diablo kicked Dagger before he ended up spilling everything.

"What did he mean by before me?" Jayden put on his most confused look.

"He meant before you lost your memory. You were working in another province before that. You joined us right before you lost your memory..." Diablo cooked up an excuse.

"Luke, bring it in." Jayden looked at Luke, who brought a bag in.

"What's this?" Diablo wondered.

"I got them back." Inside the bag were the supposedly missing bag of drugs.

"How did you?" Dagger held Jayden by the collar again.

"Useless idiot!" Diablo grabbed Dagger and made him let go.

"Diablo, is this enough to make you trust me?" Jayden looked at the man.

"Jayden, I've always trusted you. You're like a son to me." Diablo stepped closer.

"Then tell me your plans." Jayden whispered.

"The cut is healing..." Aika looked at her sister's face.

"Don't worry, it won't leave a scar." Tricia assured her sister.

"You're the face of our family, Ate." Jill peered at the cut.

"I'm heading to work, bye..." Tricia grabbed her duffel.

"Patty! Wait..." Atty Leni came running from the toilet upstairs.

"Hmm?" Tricia paused.

"You forgot this in the shower..." Atty Leni was holding up a necklace.

"Right..." Tricia took the necklace from Atty Leni's hand and immediately hung it over her neck.

"Ate must have been really distracted to forgot Jayden's tag..." Jill sighed after Tricia left. Tricia had never gone a day without wearing Jayden's tag after receiving it.

"How many days left till the end of the year?" Atty Leni looked at her girls.

"As of today, 24..." Jill counted.

"That's...not very far, is it..." Aika frowned.

"I really hope Jayden comes back...When he comes back, I'm gonna really torture him for making Ate Trish suffer." Jill pouted.

"Bunso..." Atty Leni calmed her youngest.

"Doc Tricia!" Justin called out.

"Justin? What are you doing here?" Tricia was shocked to see Justin waiting outside the condo gate with his car.
