"What's so funny?" Jayden watched as Alex had a huge smile on his face while texting.

"I'm just texting Angel..." Alex replied without much thought.

"Angel? Who's that?" Jayden was lost.

"Uh...I met her at church last Sunday. We hit off immediately so I asked for her number." Alex's eyes were still glued to his phone.

"On the day you met?" Jayden's eyes widened.

"Duh? It's the 21st century, Jayden. This isn't the Victorian era...I'm not like someone." Alex rolled his eyes.

"You still haven't gotten Dr Tricia's number?" Det. Torres smacked Jayden's back.

"Why and how does everything know?" Jayden furrowed his eyebrows.

"In case you forget, Joshua is my son." Det. Torres reminded. Jayden's jaw dropped at the connection.

"God bless me..." Jayden muttered.

"Lucky you, we have to make a trip to the hospital to get a statement from one of our witnesses." Det. Torres winked as he hi-fived Alex.

"Hi Detectives, please tell me you guys are not here for medical assistance?" Nurse Rose greeted the men with a smile.

"Thankfully, we're here with another mission in mind. Missions, to be exact. Right, Det. Rivera?" Det. Torres teased Jayden.

"Nurse Rose, the witness we brought in last week is still in the same ward right?" Jayden ignored Det. Torres' question.

"Uh huh. Bed 2." Nurse Rose nodded after checking the records.

"Salamat, po. We won't disturb you further..." Jayden nodded gratefully.

"Wait!" Nurse Rose called out to Jayden. She waved for Jayden to come closer.

"Yes?" Jayden did as told.

"Dr Tricia is on duty today." Nurse Rose whispered to Jayden. Jayden didn't know how to react.

"How many people have you told..." Jayden gritted his teeth as he and Det. Torres headed for the ward.

"Uh...Anak told me and Ella. Somehow Alex and Nurse Rose got wind of it too..." Det Torres avoided Jayden's glare.

"Please don't say anything if we bump into Dr Tricia. I'm begging you, Kuya Daniel..." Jayden pleaded.

"Oh so now I'm Kuya and not Sir?" Det. Torres chuckled. Jayden rarely called him Kuya when they were at work.

Please don't let me bump into Dr Tricia...at least not with Kuya around...

"Lunch?" Det. Torres looked at his watch and gasped. The statement taking took longer than expected and it was already 4pm.

"Sure..." Jayden trailed off when he spotted a familiar figure coming out from the ward before them.

"The heavens are helping you. I'll have lunch alone. Kuya's rooting for you." Det. Torres patted Jayden on the shoulder before scurrying away.

"Hi..." Jayden gave Tricia a small smile when she noticed him.

"Are you injured?" Tricia walked up to Jayden, about to check on him.

"No...I'm fine. Sir and I were here to get statements." Jayden assured.

"That's a relief to hear..." Tricia's hands fell back to her side.
