"But it's so weird, why does he call our Dad, Mama?" - Oklahoma.

"I told you Oak, he's done I for as long as I can remember. He's always called Pa, Mama, it did confuse Father a lot. Even Pa doesn't know, he just goes with it." - Texas.

The few states that were up that morning were bored, so they did what they always do when they're bored, they talk about the southern most state. Florida.

"How does Dad not even know!?" - Arkansas.

She half yelled that before she was shushed.

"Shhhh, you idiot, you'll wake up Dad." - Oklahoma.

They all sat there for a while thinking, they all wanted to know why Florida called their Dad, Mama. As minutes flew by, no one had an answer.

"I give up, maybe he's just weird." - Louisiana.

They're were some giggles from the states.

"He's always been weird, that's not news. Hey Tex, remember how he would follow Father everywhere." - North Carolina.

Oh my god, yes I remember that. Didn't Father just try to give him away to Dad?" - Texas.

"Yeah, he did." - South Carolina.

They sat there chatting for a while till someone came down the stairs. All the states that were up looked over to see America.

"What are you all doing up so early?" - America.

No reason, just bored." - Georgia.

"And gossiping about our favorite brother, what a shame." - Mississippi.

"Yeah, what a shame." - Alabama.

The states looked at the twins who had been hidden behind the couch.

"How long have you two been there!?" - Virginia.

"The whole time." - Mississippi.

"We slept back here." - Alabama.

America sighed, and looked at the state's sitting here.

"Why we're you talking about Florida?" - America.

His tone was tired. The state's looked at each other, none of them wanted to be the one to answer.

"Umm, because he calls you Mama, we were just wondering why..." - Oklahoma.

His voice trails off as he looks down.

"I call him Mama because he asta more like a Mom than a Dad." - Florida.

Everyone except America looked up the stairs, Florida was standing there looking proud.

"Oh-" - All the states.

Florida came down the stairs and jumped on Texas.

"Florida what the fuck!?" - Texas.

"This is what you get for gossiping about me." - Florida.

Texas just laughed and laid back. America watched them and smiled.

"Do y'all want food?" - America.

"Yeah!" - All the states.

The rest of the day went by without issue.
