hybe high's annual bake sale fundraiser for seniors was coming around the corner, and minji's excitement was bubbling up.

she absolutely loved baking, discovering her love for it at the ripe of age of 7 when she helped her mom bake a loaf of bread.

that was also when she discovered she had an abnormal liking for bread, or pastries in general.

the bake sale fundraiser was meant to help seniors cover the costs of graduation, seeing as it had gotten quite expensive over the past few years.

seriously, $100 just for cap and gown rentals was too much, and that wasn't including grad photos, prom, or their school's tradition of an annual senior field trip.

in any case, it was a win-win for minji, she'd be able to bake while also lessen the costs of graduating.

"minji-unnie, do you know what you're going to make for the bake sale? it's coming up next week."

minji was currently sitting in the school cafeteria with hyein, seeing as they were the only ones in their friend group with a spare second period.

"nah, i'm still trying to figure that out."

"i'm sure it'll be good, unnie. just say so i can spread word and hype it up a bit, you know?" hyein clapped her hands together as she said that.

minji brought her hand up deep in thought, "hyein, do you have any ideas as to what i should bake?"

it was hyein's turn to be deep in thought, although it was lived short as an imaginary lightbulb lit up above her head, "your white chip matcha cookies are really good, unnie."

ah yes, minji once made those cookies for her friends during a sleepover at danielle's place. they wouldn't stop asking her to make some every time they hung out at someone's place now because of that.

minji laughed, "yeah, but i feel like everyone's gonna make cookies, i wanna do something different."

"well, you do that unnie. i'm gonna go to my locker to prep for math."

minji waved hyein goodbye as she watched her retreating figure turn around a corner.

what should she make? if it was a bake sale there's no doubt that cookies would be abundant everywhere. perhaps she could make bread, but that would be too plain for a bake sale.

an idea pierced through minji's swirling thoughts.

what if she made cake pops?

of course, it's because cake pops would be something you wouldn't normally find at a bake sale and definitely not because they were haerin's favourite baked treat.

no, definitely not.

mentally giving herself a pat on back, minji grinned to herself. she would make matcha cake pops with white chocolate filling inside, maybe she would glaze it with white sprinkles too.

"dude, how'd you even come up with this." hanni asked in awe as she eyed the spread out ingredients on minji's kitchen island counter.

"bro, your mom's literally a baker, hanni. why do you look so shocked at the ingredients." minji quips.

"because when you said we could team up for the bake sale i thought we were making something simple like cookies, not cake pops!"

on the kitchen island was all the typical ingredients you'd find in a cake pop, along with plastic skewers they could stick the baked good onto once finished.
