Was she with some guy?

My stomach twisted at the thought.

“Aurora!” Rhys screamed as he started climbing the stairs.

I was looking around frantically, hoping to see her face in the crowd.

“Aurora!” Rhys screamed again as he opened one of the doors on the second floor.

Rhys was screaming loudly, but I was sure that she couldn’t hear us. The music was blasting. The only reason I heard Rhys was because he was right beside me.

I saw Tim at the end of the hall. He was coming from the opposite direction. He must have used the stairs in the kitchen. He was opening doors and looking inside the rooms.

My heart was in my throat. Where was she? Was she in one of these rooms? What would we see when we opened the door?

Rhys opened the door to our left and my heart stopped beating.

Everything stilled.

I felt like someone ripped my heart out. I felt pain like never before. I felt like my whole damn world came crashing down.

“I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!” Rhys screamed.

“Aurora!” Mia cried out and tried to push past me to get inside the room.

I wasn’t moving, though. I was like a fucking statue.

“Sebastian!” Mia screamed my name. “Move!”

I heard Rhys slamming his fists into Bruno. I wanted to help him kill the fucker, but I couldn’t move my eyes from her. She wasn’t moving. Why wasn’t she moving?

“Oh, fuck!” Tim exclaimed as he pushed past me.

He ran toward Rhys and pulled him off Bruno.

“LET ME GO!” Rhys screamed. “I am going to fucking kill him!”

I was finally able to force my frozen body to move. I approached the bed and my vision blackened. She was unconscious. She wasn’t able to move because she was unconscious. Her top was ripped and I could see bite marks on her chest.

I was going to explode.

I heard Rhys and Tim screaming. I heard Bruno crying in pain. I heard it all but I didn’t give a crap.

I only cared about her.

“Aurora,” I called her as I cupped her cheeks and turned her head toward me.

She had bite marks on her neck too.

My hands were shaking.

“Aurora!” I shouted.

Why wasn’t she waking up? Why wasn’t she answering me?

“Aurora!” I screamed again as I patted her cheek.

“He drugged her,” Mia cried out. “She won’t answer.”

That was fucking it.

I turned around and slammed my fists into Bruno’s face.

“You are dead,” I said as I grabbed his neck and squeezed.

I couldn’t even get one good squeeze before Tim ripped me off him.

“No!” he screamed. “Your sister needs you! Go!”

I clenched my fists and turned back around. Rhys was trying to wake her up.

“Princess,” he cried out. “Please open your eyes, please.”

I grabbed Rhys’ shoulder and pulled him back. I covered her chest and picked her up in my arms. I laid her head on my shoulder and wrapped her legs around my waist. I placed a hand on her head and kissed her temple.

“I got you, Rory,” I mumbled. “I got you.”

“Don’t fucking touch her!” Rhys screamed at me as he tried to take her from me. “This is your fault!”

I looked at Rhys and tightened my jaw.

“Back the fuck off,” I said, trying to hold back from punching him. “She is my sister. She is my twin. I am not letting you take her from me.”

Rhys tried again. I pushed him back.

“I said to back off!” I screamed. “I am not letting her go!”

I couldn't even if I wanted to. Holding her in my arms was the only thing keeping me from breaking.

I turned my head to kiss her temple again.

“It’s okay, Rory,” I mumbled as I started walking out of the room. “I got you. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

My heart was breaking inside my chest. I was still in shock so the pain didn’t hit me yet. I still couldn’t process what I saw.

I started running out of the house, holding onto her like she was the only thing keeping me sane.

That wasn’t far from the truth actually.

She was the only thing keeping me from burning everything to the ground. I had to get her home I had to keep her safe.
