Our separate teams get on to the ice for our scrimmage. I'm kinda nervous for how this will turn out. It's just a practice but this will determine how well we are practiced. I am glad coach did decide to do a scrimmage before our last practice. Then we get to work on and fix our weaknesses.

"Ready Cam?" Dwayne asks me as we stand on the blue line. "Ya." I nod. Averman, Luis and Connie are three of the forwards that are on my side. Those three are going up against Adam, Charlie and Guy. I have a feelkng Averman might lose the face off against Adam.

"Okay Ducks, let's get the show in the road." Coach skates to centre to drop the puck. I take a deep breathe, get ready, and look at centre. I see Adam glance in my direction and grin a little. I keep taking deep breathes and try and focus.

Once coach drops the puck, Adam does win the face off and he passes it over to Guy. Guy is able to get the puck past Connie, and he skates up with the puck until Dwayne is able to stop and hit him to the ice. I'm open and Dwayne slides the puck over to me and I'm able to get passed Charlie along the boards and get to the their blue line. I shoot the puck in their end and let the forwards handle it from there. All 3 forward go in and I move to the middle a little in case one of them pass it back. Dwayne has a pretty good shot, but I know he would rather me take it since mine is a little more accurate.

"Cam!" I hear Charlie shout and pass the puck back. I don't even hesitate and I take a slap shot. It goes over Julie's shoulder and the puck goes bar down.

"Nice one Cam!" Dwayne comes over and smiles. "Thanks Dwayne!" I smile back. "Keep those for our games." Guy grins and skates over. "Someone doesn't need the tripe deke." Charlie says as he joins us. "Charlie obviously didn't teach you that shot!" Adam skates behind me and places his hand on my back. "Thanks guys!" I grin.

"Okay no need to celebrate its hits a practice." Coach shouts. We break up the group. "Nice shot Conway!" Coach states and nods his head at me.

Practice is over and a bunch of us walks out of the dressing room into the lobby.

"Well well well. Isn't it the ducks!" Jason states with a stupid smirk on his face. "What do you want Jason?" Charlie questions. "Nice little duck practice! Learning how to fly together?" Tucker asks. "We already know how!" Fulton states and takes a step forwards. Russ and Dwayne stop him from moving forward. "You'll have to keep an eye on your precious sharp shooter here when we play against you guys." Jason tells the bunch as he looks at me. I just roll my eyes at him and shake my head.

I can't stand Jason. He's so stuck up. He thinks since he comes from a rich family, everyone owes him something and needs to bow down to him.

"Listen, just okay your game and we'll play ours. We'll see what happens!" Charlie tells him. "You're going down ducks!" Tucker states and he walks away with Jason and some other varsity players.

As they're walking away, they're aren't quiet about what they're talking about. I hear Jason start to talk about Adam and had great he is and he calls him Ace. I'm not going to let Adam live that down.

"Ignore them guys. They're just telling themselves they'll win to get their hopes up." Charlie turns to tell us. "I hate that guy!" Fulton states and throws his stick on the ground. "Save it for the game Fulton. We'll need it." I tell him. "You need to save those shots for our games Cam. We need them." Adam looks over and tells me. "Banksie is right. We need your power shot and to your force to stop them and other teams." Charlie nods at me. "Okay." I quietly say.

The bunch starts to slowly walk away and I'm just shuffling my feet. I'm so tired.

"Hey, want to hangout?" Adam quietly asks me. "Sure. What are we going to tell Charlie?" I ask. "Studying for an English test." He suggests. "Okay." I nod with a grin.

"Charlie." I call his name when Adam and I get into the parking lot. "What's up?" He turns and faces us. "Adam and I have an English test coming up. We're going to study for it." I tell him. "Okay." He shrugs. "Can you take my equipment back home." I say as I walk over to him. "I guess." He groans. "Thank you!" I smile and set my bag and sticks down in front of him. "Ya whatever." He rolls his eyes as he grabs it and walks away with it.

"What a good brother." Adam smiles as I walk towards him at his car. "Ya, for once!" I grin. Adam keeps his smile and we get into his car and start to drive.

"You had a good practice." Adam tells me. "Thanks. You did too." I grin over at him. "That was a nice shot you had that went bar down!" "I'm surprised I got that." I state with a smile. "It was perfect!" I see Adam smile. "I hope I have more goals like that this season." "I'm sure you will." Adam grins and glances at me quick.

Adam keeps driving around and it doesn't seem like he's going in the direction of his house.

"Where are you going Adam?" I look over and asks. "Going to the park." He tells me. "Didn't want to go back to your house?" "Not really no." He shrugs a little. "Cause of your dad?" "Ya. He's just been on my case lately." He says. "That sucks!" I say and put my hand on his leg. "Oh well." He says and grabs my hand to hold it as he drives.

It's not long until we get to the park. The two of walk around and talk about stupid things we did as a kid.

"Remember when you and two other hawks pushes Karp into garbage?" I look up at him and smile. "Ya!" He chuckles. "Then Fulton came and threw the three of us into the garbage too." Adam laughs and I start to laugh with him.

I love hearing Adam laugh. Sometimes he seems so serious or focused and he doesn't laugh as much or at all.

"Oh my god!" I state in a shock and pull Adam into the bushes with me. "Cam!" He states as he falls beside me. "Ssssh!" I quietly tell him and cover his mouth. "What are you doing?" He quietly asks as he loves my hand away. "Charlie and Linda were walking towards us." I look at him as I quietly say. "What?" His eyes widen. "Sssh!" I hush him.

Not so long after, Charlie and Linda walk by with ice cream and I hear Charlie complain about practice.

Adam and I look at each other and our eyes widen again and Adam's head falls backwards. "That was close!" He states.
