"A Pair of Strangers"

Two pairs of eyes bathed in twilight

Whose sights locked more than twice

See nothing now, except strangers in the night

One blinded by pride, the other by divide

Who are fading fast from their life, as if their invisible fight

To hang on and feel a little bit polite

With each other as the days fly by

Through today or tonight

Might have only existed out of spite

But when your eyes meet mine

Passing in the school hall tomorrow at 12:09

Could you tell me—if that's alright—

Are we still friends?
