CHAPTER TEN

questions and answers.

QUIETLY, THE GROUP OF FIVE MOVED OUT OF THE BATHROOM AND MERGED IN WITH THE CROWD LEAVING THE CINEMA. They kept their heads down, trying their best to avoid the Russians they believed were looking for them - which was much easier without the three teens being drugged out of their minds. "Well, shit, that worked." Erica spoke.

"Course it worked." Dustin said as if it should have been obvious from the get-go. "We just have to get on the bus with the rest of these plebes, and home sweet home, here we come." He said, reciting the plan.

Steve spoke, gaining the boys attention. "Uh, Dustin?"

"What?"

"Yeah, we might not wanna go to your house." He said, trying to avoid Dustin's eyes, feeling guilty. The young boy was quick to question him. "Well, I might've told them your full name." Steve admitted.

Dustin's head snapped to the Steve. "What is wrong with you?" He whisper-yelled.

"Dude, I was drugged." He said, trying to defend himself, though, Dustin didn't take it as a very good excuse.

"So?"

"So?"

"So, you resist. You tough it out. You tough it out like a man." Dustin said, his voice slightly louder, though, not too loud as to not gain any unwanted attention.

"Oh, yeah, it's easy for you to say."

Jennifer and Robin who walked side by side - Jennifer walking in-between Robin and Steve - watched the two bicker, unable to hide their smirks at the two unexpected friends. "Guys?" Robin spoke, her smile dropping, pulling on Dustin's shoulder gently to stop him from moving any further.

The five stared ahead of them, spotting the two Russians who stood at the exit of the cinema, checking anyone and everyone who walked out. "Abort." Dustin murmured, his voice raising when one of the men spotted them. "Abort. Abort." The group quickly turned and ran, pushing past everyone walking against them and sliding down through the gap between the two elevators to the first-floor of the mall.

Their hearts raced as they continued running, jumping behind the counter of a food-store, crouching down as the Russians continued to search for them. Steve and Jennifer sat beside one another, their hands intertwined, their grip on each other tight. A car alarm going off startled them, though, they didn't move, knowing that if they did they would be captured almost immediately.
